Charles Schwab - C# or Java Software Developer

Organization Objective/Purpose:

Advisor Services Technology has an opening for a Grade 56, Developer. This person will be part of a development team responsible for building mission critical, highly available systems for the Schwab Advisor Services business. Clients are browser based ASPX, PowerBuilder or .Net. Middleware services use WebLogic/Java, Messaging, Web Services, API and file transfer communication to core services.

Brief Description of Role:

Candidate should have experience deploying systems across an enterprise. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential. This person would frequently interface with clients and users. Established team-player mentality required. Provide 3rd level production support as needed. This person would need to be able to troubleshoot mission critical production system problems under time bound situations. Demonstrated ability to design and develop on a single moderate-to-high complexity project, or on concurrent low complexity projects.

Technical/FunctionalQualifications:

Required Skills: BS degree in computer science, engineering or a related field. A minimum of 3 years experience in software development. Recent experience building multi-tier in Java or C# applications including GUI development. For JAVA developers working knowledge of Java Swing, Xtreme Frameworks, and Toplink and a conceptual understanding of all J2EE technologies. For C# developers working knowledge of net 2.0 framework, net 3.0, .net 3.5. visual studio .net 2005, visual studio .net 2008, c#, asp.net 2.0, asp.net 3.5, asp.net ajax, sql server 2005, sql server 2008, sql server ssis, t-sql, silverlight. Additional experience in of XML, IBM WSMQ, JMS, SQL, Design expertise modeling business, data access and service objects is desired. Working knowledge of UNIX, Linux and Windows operating systems. Working knowledge of ASPX, WebForm, Atlas. Experience with IIS, WebLogic, and WebSphere. Experience with full development life cycle (requirement definition, object oriented design, development, QA, and rollout). Additional experience with PowerBuilder, Net, Web Services, Apache Struts and JSP's, and Oracle 9i and/or 10g is a plus.
Preferred: Knowledge of financial services industry
