Senior Systems Administrator
Sr. AIX Systems Administrator
Position will handle the overall administration and technical support of of large-scale IBM (P-Series) server environments, with a focus on high availability. The administrator will ensure acceptable and consistent levels of performance through optimization; applying all patches and system upgrades, perform configuration management of all associated software and hardware, and perform system integration testing of server operating systems, related utilities and hardware. The administrator works with database systems administrators, programmers, analysts, engineering, business continuity, and operations staff to ensure that effective data security, integrity, monitoring and recoverability procedures are in place at all times; and serves as focal point for applications development / infrastructure teams for developing, configuring, deploying, troubleshooting, and performing software administration for distributed applications; produce project plans and progress reports for management; technical visio diagrams; follow rigorous system development life cycle (SDLC) and project management best practices; comply with internal Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) and other compliance related processes, and adhere to change control and problem management procedures. The area of focus will be the distributed database infrastructure and Customer Relationship Management systems including Siebel, and Genesys Framework, CTI, and Nortel MPS IVRs.
Qualifications
8 years experience working as and AIX System Administrator AIX 5.1; 5.2; 5.3; 6
8 years experience on Power 4 and 5 technologies
5 plus years experience on HACMP
5 plus years experience on Unix server tuning and optimizations/troubleshooting·
2 years plus experience on IBM virtualization - VIOS/VIOC
2 years experience on GPFS
2 years experience supporting AIX servers Oracle RAC clusters
Strong Korn shell scripting skills
3 years experience with Network Install Manager (NIM)
Experience with AIX in an Hitachi or EMC or other SAN environment
3 years experience on IBM Hardware Management Console (HMC)
1 year experience on IBM Partition mobility
4 years experience on network performance tuning and troubleshooting
4 years experience on system automation
Systems management technologies (e.g. Tivoli Framework/related products)
Experience with CA autosys and NDM connect direct is plus
Willingness to work evenings and weekends to support implementations and changes and provide off hours on-call 24X7 support within a rotation.
