Description:
GENERAL SUMMARY: Basic knowledge and understanding of web, server, and PC based application programming principles. Able to install and support vendor provided applications and implement new program applications under the direction of an experienced programmer using approved development tools and languages. Provide basic application diagnostic services and address reported application problems with vendor or team assistance. Provide mentored analysis, design, programming, testing, implementation, system review, follow-up and closure to projects as well as on-going support. Support end-users by providing applications training and assisting in the resolution of reported problems. As a member of the Clinical Research Unit (CRU), you will be held accountable for compliance with federal, state, institutional, and departmental requirements. You will be trained on Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) for Researchers and on Human Research Participant Protection; completion of training will be documented.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Candidate must have a bachelor*s degree in a business or information technology field or 4 years experience in a technical or medical research environment. Some limited experience identifying and developing study populations and collecting aggregate data for research studies. Must be able to work with biostatisticians, pharmacists, nurses, and medical doctors in defining data collection methods and information analysis. Must have some knowledge about research databases and their uses. Must have good communication skills and be willing to learn new technologies.
Candidate must have
1 year minimum experience developing and deploying applications in a web server environment using a Windows based server engine such as IIS, Apache-Tomcat, JBoss, Webshere, or WebLogic.
1 year minimum experience developing software products using an application development tool such as Visual studio, JBuilder, or other similar tool.
1 year development experience with HTML, Java, JavaScript, J2EE, JDBC, and Servlets in an OOA and OOD environment.
1 year minimum experience developing applications using an ODBC relational database such as MS Access, SQL Server, UDB, Oracle, Sybase, Informix, Progress or other similar DBMS.
1 year administrative experience with Windows NT Server or Windows 2000 Server.
Experience with C#, ASP.NET and ADO.NET a plus.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Installs and configures vendor developed web, server, and PC based applications and provides basic end-user support.
Provides resolution to user production problems.
Develops and deploys interfaces with other support applications for complete system integration.
Works with external software vendors in defining, testing, and deploying version upgrades.
Collects application requirements from customers and assists with deriving a software solution.

STARTING SALARY RANGE: $40,000 - $51,000 DOE plus excellent benefits package
