Description: Summary
The Unix Administrator will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, monitoring, and tuning of the company*s Unix servers. Ideal candidate will have production support experience running AIX for ERP, WMS, or other enterprise applications.
Responsibilities:
* Lead AIX maintenance, monitoring, and tuning activities
* Work with DBAs and application Administrators to monitor and troubleshoot application and database performance
* Plan and execute strategy to scale Unix environment according to application growth
* Plan, implement, maintain, and monitor system storage requirements
* Install and configure new environments as needed
* Monitor and maintain system back-up and disaster recovery procedures
* Maintain and audit system level security
* Review, test, and install OS patches and upgrades
* Configure and maintain administration tools for monitoring performance and change management
Experience/Education:
* 5+ years of Unix Administration experience
* pSeries hardware experience
* SAN hardware expertise desired
* Tivoli backup experience a plus
* Linux Administration skills desired
* Experience with Oracle 10g desired
* Basic networking skills required
* Experience in high-volume application environments desired
* Experience with JD Edwards Enterprise One a plus
* Experience with Manhattan WMOS a plus
* Strong analytical and conceptual skills
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Demonstrated ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
* Highly motivated self-starter who is innovative and quick to learn
* BS or MS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
