What you Offer:
Establish a release management process. Working with product
development
manager to establish and refine structured, repeatable processes and
procedures for creating and managing application environments;
including
application and web server configurations, database servers,
build/deploy processes, release management, and change control
procedures as necessary. Coordinate with software development team and
the product manager to determine which code should be included in each
release. Produce Release Notes on the fixes, changes, and known bugs in
each released version of the code. Coordinate with QA resources to have
them regression test the application, and ensure that documented
changes
function as expected. Track dependencies between the various components
of a release to ensure that all components are mutually compatible, and
that the release process accounts for any dependencies. Work with
client
IT departments to assist in the deployment of the release. Act as the
primary point person for capturing and triaging bug reports on the
release. Update and create installation packages for new products.
A bachelor's degree in a computer or technology-related field, or 3+
years experience working in the area of software deployment (build
management, configuration management, software deployment, and/or
release management systems)
Necessary Skills/Abilities:
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Good familiarity with Microsoft operating systems
* Experience with build management, configuration management,
software deployment, and/or release management systems
Desirable Skills/Abilities:
Experience working with the following:
* Microsoft Internet Server (IIS)
* Windows services
* Basic administration and/or use of Microsoft SQL Server
* Microsoft office add-ins and/or custom forms
* Building software installation packages
* Installing and integrating distributed client/server
applications.
* Familiarity with defect-tracking software
* Using the Agile development approach
* Working with an external technical team
* Performing system installations on third-party systems
* Knowledge of the financial industry
