We are currently looking for a Sybase Database Team Lead in a 24x7
Hosted Application Support Environment, providing database
administration across Production, Test, and Development environments
as well as technical and non-technical guidance to a team of Sybase
DBA's.

Primary responsibilities:
· Management of daily production support operations among team
members to meet client-specific SLA's,
· Technical resource for any major issues in the production support
environment
· Maintaining current standards and developing/adapting new
standards in an evolving, multi-client environment,
· Work closely with remote resources to coordinate production
activities,
· Bridging communication gaps between team members and client team
leads/executives and clients.
· Assist the Team Manager to develop plans for team skill
development and provide employee feedback for bi-yearly performance
reviews.
· Assist in providing short-and long-term direction for the team
based on current hosting directives
· Assist with coordination of tasks other team lead with regards to
any production support tasks related to any software conversions, go-
lives or projects.

Requirements:
· Experience leading a team of DBAs.
· Previous technical and non-technical Sybase ASE and Replication
Server experience supporting a production, multi-client, hosted
environment providing direction.
· Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to teach team
members.
· Proficient in Sybase ASE 12.0 and 12.5; ASE 15; Sybase Replication
Server 12.0, 12.5, 12.6; Replication Server 15 desired. Experience
with heterogeneous replication to Oracle and MS Sql Server desired.
· Proficient in Unix AIX, Shell programming, preferably Korn shell
in development and maintenance; Perl desired.
· Facets software, Business Objects and Data Integrator desired.
· Demonstrate good judgment in assessing the most critical
priorities.
· Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
· Desire to learn in an ever-changing, multi-client production
environment.
· Self-motivated, driven, and adaptable in a production support and
team lead role.

Responsibilities:
• Deploy custom code from PVCS repository to client facing
environments using our automated build tool, Serena ChangeMan
Builder,
• Initial configuration of the build product for roll-out to
additional customers.
• Deploy core code to client facing environments using pre-existing
scripts.
• Troubleshoot the cause of any issues resulting from automated and
manual code deployment.
• Conduct deployment related training sessions with end users as
needed.
• Review deployment related documentation for accuracy and create
new documentation where needed.
• Develop positive relationships and work closely with the code
review, implementation and upgrade teams.

Requirements:
• BS in Computer Science or related computer degree w/ 2 years
experience or Associate's degree in similar fields w/ 4 years
experience
• Strong technical aptitude and data analysis skills
• Strong troubleshooting skills
• Demonstrate excellent judgment to assess highest priorities; able
to manage time and resources profitably
• Excellent communication and customer service skills

Preferred skills:
• Previous experience with PVCS or another version control system
strongly
• Previous experience with Serena ChangeMan Builder or another build
tool
• Previous experience with RapidSQL or another database front-end
tool strongly
• Ability to read and modify XML configuration files
• Knowledge of SQL, Visual Basic, HTML and Perl
• Familiarity with development tools in a Microsoft Windows OS
environment
• Experience with networked Microsoft Windows OS environment
• Experience with the Software Development Life Cycle concepts
