Job Description – Support
Provide 1st and 2nd level technical support for NewsGator's
Syndication Services product line, including hosted web-based
products, SOAP and REST based API web service, and NewsGator's Widget
Framework. The primary focus of this job is customer facing, where
candidates will be interfacing directly with client companies'
software developers using the various NewsGator API's and development
environments. Support technicians are responsible for in-depth
investigation of customers issues, including issues not previously
addressed or documented. Candidates should have strong problem
solving skills. Candidate should have excellent written and oral
communication skills, where the majority of customer communication is
via email reporting systems or the NewsGator Knowledgebase or Forum.
The ideal candidate will have some programming experience, either
formal or informal (at home), preferably using html, xml, javascript.
Responsibilities
• Manage multiple customers or products simultaneously
• Documenting new features and functionality
• Review clients' custom code (HTML, Javascript, ASP.net, CSS, PHP,
XML) and provide recommended solutions.
• Testing custom prebuilds for clients and integration with their
environment
• Own in-depth investigation of customer issues, including issues not
previously addressed via documented resolution.
• Provide clear, well documented description of problems that require
technical fix or resolution by Software Engineers.
• Maintain exceptional customer service skills.
Qualifications
• Bachelors degree with 5+ years experience or equivalent
• Have excellent problem solving and analytical skills; be able to
identify key issues and information in complex situations. Must have
demonstrated experience of solving problems quickly and resourcefully.
• Formal training in the area of Computer hardware, computer software,
and programming, or equivalent experience.
• Excellent written communication skills
• Excellent oral communication skills
• Working knowledge of browser environments such as Internet Explorer
and Firefox
• Working knowledge of HTML, HTTP(s), CSS, SQL, XML, Web Services
• Knowledge and exposure to RSS and Blogs.
Work Conditions
• Job location will be on-site at NewsGator facilities.
• Normal working hours are scheduled within 7am-6pm.
