ORACLE DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The ideal candidate will be skilled in the areas of data modeling, physical
database design, troubleshooting, performance tuning, monitoring, maintenance,
migrations, recovery methodologies and contingency options. The job will also
involve the challenge of auditing the current environments, capacity planning,
and providing best practices for the future production/development/test
environments, which may include establishing new standards and procedures.
REQUIREMENTS
o Minimum 2+ years experience supporting Production/Development Oracle databases
in a UNIX/Linux environment
o Hands-on experience with Oracle 9i and 10g
o Data Modeling, SQL, PL/SQL, UNIX Shell, PERL & JDBC programming skills
o Recovery Manager (RMAN)
o Excellent problem solving skills
o Excellent written and verbal communication skills
o Knowledge of AIX & Linux
o Embarcadero or ERWin
o OLTP/DSS
o Design and Tuning
o PeopleSoft Application DBA Experience
o Netbackup
o Clustering Solutions
o J2EE
o Persistence Solutions
o XML
o NAS/SAN
o MySQL
o SQL Server DBA Experience
COMPETENCIES
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field and/or
equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
