Summary
Monitors, evaluates, and maintains systems and procedures to
safeguard internal information systems and databases. Researches,
recommends, and implements changes to enhance systems security.
Educates and communicates security requirements and procedures to
all users and new employees. Operates under general supervision.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include the following. Other
duties as assigned.
· This position requires handling of sensitive information
on an on-going basis. The highest level of background security
reviews will be performed on the individual who holds this position.

· Works closely with other groups to support the
information confidentiality and integrity objectives of Intrado.

· Responsible for information security incident response.

· Conducts information security awareness and training.

· Responsible for administration of firewalls (network and
desktop).

· Responsible for administration of virtual private
networks (VPN).

· Responsible for administration of intrusion detection
systems (IDS).

· Responsible for administration of encryption systems.

· Conducts risk assessments and vulnerability analysis of
networks and systems.

· Responsible for conducting computer forensic
investigations.

· Responsible for monitoring security alerts and
vulnerabilities.

· Designs and implements security solutions for computing
environments.

· Researches, evaluates, tests, configures, maintains and
supports products and services for the current and future
infrastructure.

· Complies with the letter and spirit of the Intrado
Policies.

· Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education & Experience
· Typically requires four to five years of systems
administration experience with multiple operating systems and one to
two years of data security experience.

· 3 years experience in specialization on managed systems
in telecommunication or other high-technology industries; or
equivalent combination of education and experience.

· In depth understanding of networked or distributed
computing environment concepts; for example: ability to use the
route command, add a workstation to a network and mount remote file
systems.

· Ability to write scripts in some administrative language
(Tk, Perl, vi, a shell).



Language Skills
· Excellent customer service skills and demonstrated
ability to meet customer requirements.

· Excellent written and verbal presentation skills.

· Strong organizational skills along with advanced problem
solving ability.

· Ability to productively interact with peers, customers
and executive management.

· Strong interpersonal and team building skills.


Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
· Certified Unix systems administrator or equivalent
experience.



Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly
required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with
hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally
required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The
employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision,
distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.
