The purpose of this position is to design, develop, implement and maintain web and database solutions for University Libraries at the University of Colorado Boulder.

*Department Information:*
Libraries Information Technology (LIT) provides services and support for a broad range of information technology (IT) activities for the University Libraries.  The department works in close partnership with all other Libraries units, the Office of Information Technology and University Information Systems, and a broad array of third-party vendors. The LIT department centralizes IT infrastructure and related services including IT strategy, webmaster functions, web development, coordination and support of digital user experience testing, digitization services, audio-visual media production, and IT support of libraries operations, new libraries service initiatives, and libraries faculty research.  Services critical to the instructional and research missions of the University are provided 24/7/365 to the entire campus community as well as to all citizens of Colorado and Wyoming in keeping with the campus's participation in the federal depository program.

*Job Responsibilities:*

The purpose of this position is to design, develop, implement and maintain web and database solutions for University Libraries at the University of Colorado Boulder. This includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:

*        assisting in developing and implementing project plans for Drupal migration and in developing and maintaining website post implementation

*        working with Libraries personnel to identify need for web and database solutions, developing project plans for such solutions

*        designing, developing, implementing and maintaining databases

*        evaluating and enhancing existing database applications as needed

*        providing support and training for Libraries employees in best practices for Drupal

*        providing database support expertise for other department database developers

*        and assisting in MySql/Sql database administration

*Salary and Benefits:*

Starting annual salary $52,000, commensurate with experience.

Qualifications:

*Minimum Qualifications:*

*        Bachelor's Degree in web design,  computer science, information science, or related field;

*        One year of experience in relational databases and basic principles of database design or a certification in relational databases

*        One year of experience with PHP and MySql/Sql and relational databases to create dynamic web applications or certification with PHP and MySql/Sql

*        Experience with Content Management Systems such as Drupal

*        Experience with user interface issues and information architecture

*Competencies/Knowledge, Skills & abilities:*

*        Ability to work in a team environment;

*        Flexibility and positive outlook in times of transition;

*        Strong interpersonal skills;

*        Effective oral and written communication skills

*Preferred Qualifications:*

*        Significant experience using Drupal

*        Proficiency with HTML/XHTML/CSS and current trends in web development;

*        Proficiency with Dreamweaver, Coldfusion, and jQuery;

*        Proficiency with Powershell and/or Visual Basic;

*        Proficiency with Wordpress;

*        Working knowledge of Google Analytics;

*        Familiarity with Linux/Apache platform;

*        Experience working in library environment with librarians and other library professionals;

*        Familiarity with library operations and systems;
