The Senior Sybase Database Administrator position will be responsible for providing 24/7 support with a Sybase DBA Team to build, deploy code and support production and test Sybase database environments. Individual must be willing to participate in an on-call rotation.
Primary duties and responsibilities include:
* Install, configure and upgrade of software including code deployment. - 20%
* Suport database design and installation and problem resolution. - 20%
* Implement database designs and updates for application releases and maintain database security. - 20%
* Perform database tuning and refreshes. - 15%
* Set up and maintenance of documentation and standards. - 15%
* Perform database capacity planning. - 10%
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years related work experience. Prefer 2 years to 5 years of related work experience.
Relevant experience as a database administrator, previous replication development and production support experience.
Database Skills:
* Sybase ASE 15.x production experience.
* Sybase Replication Server experience.
* Sybase Replication to Oracle, SQL Server experience preferred.
* Sybase database troubleshooting experience.
* Sybase performance & tuning experience.
* UNIX operating system experience (AIX preferred).
* Knowledge of Transact-SQL syntax, tuning and implementation requirements.
* Need to be able to participate in an Sybase DBA on-call rotation.
Computer Skills:
* Limited knowledge of Microsoft Word
* Limited knowledge of Microsoft Excel
* Limited knowledge of Microsoft Outlook
