Job Description
The Process Engineer works directly with the First Data technical user community to fulfill requested configuration updates to monitoring and automation tools based on established processes and standards.

Specific duties to include:

Work as second level support to address issues where standardized solutions are ineffective then escalates to third level support as necessary. Quality assurance testing within the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) as well as release management responsibilities tied to the deployment of solutions into the production environment. Balance customer needs with established standards to ensure customer satisfaction. Troubleshoot unfamiliar problems using standard tools and techniques then addressing those problems with creative solutions where necessary. Translate Event Processing requirements into functional specifications and supports changes to such specifications. Use information about the organization’s work processes and information flows to document technical support processes in technical model format in order to evaluate. Define new Event Processing solutions and deployment, implementation & administration processes.

This position requires that the successful candidate must be a lawful permanent resident or US Citizen.

Must be skilled in multiple languages and tools. Strong knowledge in emerging technologies. Possesses strong knowledge of application development technologies, tools, methodologies as well as all functional areas in IT organization. Good understanding of how technology relates to business, market and industry and applies such knowledge to support the needs of the business.

Extensive knowledge of software configuration management best practices and procedures

Web platforms: WebSphere, Apache, Tomcat, JBoss, IIP

OS Platforms: Windows, Solaris, AIX, Linux

Programming Languages: Perl, Unix Shell, C/C++, C#, VB.net, ASP.net, Java/J2EE, HTML, XML, Web Services.

Configuration Mgmt Products: Harvest/Software Change Manager, SVN, ClearCase/ClearQuest, Dimensions, Software Delivery, Jira

Database: SQL, Oracle, DB2

Development tools: Maven, Jenkins, Ant, Eclipse IDE, Visual Studios IDE

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent, plus 6+ years in data management and analysis. Working technical knowledge of software applications and hardware systems.

Ability to understand and interface with infrastructure and Development organizations (i.e., Development, application support, DBA, Network Engineering, Distributed Systems, Mainframe, Storage Management, Service Management, Security Operations, Desktop, etc.) and internal business owners.
