Job Responsibilities
WildBlue, a subsidiary of ViaSat, is the premier Ka-band satellite Internet service provider in the U.S., offering affordable broadband Internet access to everyone, regardless of where they live. The consumer broadband service delivers affordable two-way Internet access via satellite to virtually any home or small business, especially the estimated 11.5 million homes not connected to wired networks, such as DSL, cable, and fiber.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Administer complex LINUX based systems in a fast paced dynamic environment with primary responsibility for WebLogic clusters and SOA Suite clusters
Deploy WebLogic based applications to QA, Production, and DR environments
Uses scripts to automate repeatable processes
Manage large projects from inception to production deployment with little direct supervision
Provide Technical Support to the WildBlue NOC in the isolation and remediation of faults. This includes 7X24 on-call support on a rotating basis
Manage systems and servers to strict PCI and SOX Compliance Standards and within the WildBlue Change Management processes
Document Systems and providing training to NOC Personnel
Experience/Skills Required
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in CS, Engineering or related field such as programming or software engineering
5-10 years experience administering UNIX/Linux systems in a large data center environment
3 years WebLogic experience
Effective interpersonal and written skills
Solid troubleshooting skills from the network to applications layer.
Specific Technical Skills:
WebLogic clustering, SOA suite clustering highly desired
Java basic working knowledge – troubleshooting and concepts
Software development experience a plus
Working knowledge of UNIX/Linux (RHEL, BSD, or Salaries)
Working knowledge of Oracle Databases (optional)
Ant scripting with some Maven desired
Software deployment experience (writing or using automation a plus)
WLST/Jython a plus
Ant a plus
Maven a plus
Java with JAXB experience a plus
