Position Overview
Proactively partners with AVP, and district directors on financial analysis and operating decisions.
Ensures that there is a detailed comprehensive understanding of individual unit performance - whether at the market, metric, or unit level (such as a store or a network).
Provides feedback and direction to AVP and district directors regarding their operating performance to plan and recommendations regarding cost containment or revenue enhancement.
Leads monthly operational reviews within the area and provides follow up as necessary.
Ensures that AVP is provided information that creates awareness of all of the current key financial issues, with an orientation toward future financial performance.
Ensures a "rolled-up" to the area level comprehensive understanding of the projected business performance that should be achieved on a quarterly basis. The familiarity of the projected financial performance should be achieved on a collaborative basis with the AVP and his/her team providing them with an understanding of all of the key operational drivers. This understanding will be at the market, metric, and unit level.
Works with Corporate FP&A to insure direct hands-on knowledge of the decisions that will affect his/her area's performance. - Leads process to determine new ways to compare, analyze and sort data to evaluate markets and area performance.
Develops and communicates key informational models as needed to analyze certain business trends.
Constantly seeks out new ways to understand metrics and further develop the businesses strengths and reduce or eliminate its weaknesses.
Liaisons with both the field and corporate to actively participate (including regular active leadership) in financial decision making processes and task forces.
Working with Corporate FP&A and regional Finance teams, establishes standard informational packages utilized to assess current and future financial performance. Leads the area effort to populate and orchestrate budget process each year.
Obtains buy in from all stakeholders and supports with analytical data as necessary to develop budgets and business plans.
Ensures that all journal entries for monthly close are completed on a timely basis.
Signs-off on PO's and invoices as appropriate.
Ensures regional employees are trained on coding PO's and invoices.
Participates in the Controller's closing process and has direct hands-on knowledge of the decisions that will affect the region.
Performs other necessary accounting analysis and support for the markets/region as appropriate.
Provides guidance, mentoring and direction to Regional Financial Analysts for development and career growth opportunities.
Ensure that goals and objectives are set and reviewed periodically to reassess guidance and tasks to enhance development process.
Perform general management duties for department.

Qualifications:
BA/BS Finance, Accounting, Business or related discipline or equivalent experience.
MBA and/or CPA, preferred.
Consumer product retail - multi market/store environment.
Telecom/wireless industry experience, preferred.
Min of 6 years experience in financial disciplines preferably in a multi-location retail environment.
Strong knowledge of modeling and analysis utilizing spreadsheet software (Excel).
Demonstrated ability to guide and direct finance staff.
Good interpersonal and presentation skills.
Highly developed analytic and problem solving skills.
Ability to work effectively with senior management in a matrix environment.
Oracle and other ERP experience, preferred.
