The Time Warner Cable Corporate office currently seeks a Senior Web Infrastructure Engineer for our Web Services Group. Below please find a brief description of the essential duties and responsibilities required to function successfully in this position.
The Web Services team occupies a unique, strategic role within Time Warner Cable with a large degree of autonomy in architecting and building Web portal, Online Video, application and B2B solutions. In addition to leadership around traditional Web platforms, this group also performs pioneering work in cross-platform video services to set-top boxes, networked media appliances and mobile Web applications. The solutions developed by this group are deployed to audiences in excess of 10M unique users per month.
Essential Job Functions:
The selected candidate will design, configure, deploy and maintain infrastructure supporting scalable, interactive Web applications for the presentation of rich media, dynamic content, communications services, and subscriber utilities for Time Warner Cable and Road Runner High Speed Online.
- Apply industry best-practices in architecting, deploying and maintaining infrastructure which supports the company's mission of connecting people and businesses with information, entertainment and each other in ways that are simple and easy.
- Support the maintenance and enhancement of Time Warner Cable's existing Web infrastructure, as well as migration to a unified technology platform.
- Demonstrate expertise in designing and administering scalable Web infrastructure, including: databases (Oracle, MySQL), SANs (EMC), Web servers, application servers, routers, switches, firewalls and load-balancers.
- Demonstrate experience with high volume, long-life projects, balancing feature velocity, long-term maintenance costs, and operational effort.
- Monitor industry trends and advocate for Web admininstration best-practices to maintain and enhance the product's leadership position in the industry.
Job Requirements:
- 5+ years working in a UNIX/Linux environment.
- 5+ years administering Web application servers (Apache, Tomcat) expertise.
- 5+ years of network administration experience (routers, switches, firewalls and load-balancers).
- 5+ years of relational database administration experience (Oracle, MySQL), including ad-hoc SQL queries.
- Demonstrated experience working with commercial CDNs (Akamai, Limelight).
- Demonstrate ability to administer and optimize dynamic Web applications at scale (>1M+ monthly unique visitors).
- Demonstrated experience supporting a fast paced collaborative Agile development environment.
- Demonstrate willingness to adapt to emerging technological changes.
- Work and communicate well with others in a team environment.
- Demonstrate a high standard of work ethics.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience administering Java Web technologies (Servlets, MVC Frameworks,Continuous Integration, SVN, Caching, Compression, Object-Relational Mapping).
- Demonstrated experience with Web analytics and monitoring.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university; or equivalent training, education and experience.

Travel 10 %
