DISH Network - Payroll Clerk III

Job Responsibilities:

As a Payroll Clerk III, you will utilize analytical knowledge and competence with technology applications to enhance team performance and positively affect functional team’s production and efficiency. Compile data, compute, calculate and record/post statistical, numerical or financial data. Determine accuracy of transactions including account balance(s) and reconcile discrepancies. Communicate with customers and respond to inquiries. Maintain records, files and documentation. Generate and distribute reports and work product.



Specific responsibilities include the following:



· Mass load payroll data from multiple time capturing tools and sources on a daily and bi-weekly basis into the payroll system and reconcile with source data for accuracy.

· Reconcile and maintain company vacation plans maintained in the system to ensure accurate records

· Coordinate with internal business groups to ensure vacation plans for the current and upcoming year are being administered correctly.

· Compile payroll data and generates standard and ad hoc reports weekly, bi-weekly, and quarterly to assist the payroll group, management and other business groups with analysis and review.

· Extract and compile specific reporting information from large data sources.

· Update and maintain MS Access database tables, queries, forms, and tools to accommodate process changes, improvements, and identify and problem solve process errors.

· Update and modify VBA code in MS Excel macros and MS Access

· Manipulate and convert different data types into useable formats for a given need.

· Document payroll processes and procedures and demonstrate proficient writing skills.

· Prioritize work tasks, being dependable in meeting deadlines.

· Effectively communicate with team members, managers, business partners, and field staff to obtain problem resolution, adding value to all interactions.

· Exercise initiative in mentoring colleagues during problem identification and resolution processes. Serve as a technical resource, providing information as well as education.

· Complete work with few errors, striving to achieve zero error performance in combination with high volume production.

· On an ongoing basis, demonstrate advanced technology skills with continuous expansion of knowledge as it relates to software applications.

· Assume leadership and training assignments with a positive approach. Represent the department and its methodologies with credibility.

· Comply with all company policies and departmental procedures, ensuring honest and ethical conduct at all times.

· Update SOX process documentation quarterly as required, complete quarterly SPOQ questionnaires as required and perform/monitor required SOX controls as described in Tutor documentation.







Education Requirements:

To be successful in this role, our ideal candidate will have an Associates degree or equivalent work experience in combination with 4 (four) years of progressive responsibilities in relevant work areas.



Other Qualifications:

Advanced knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, email, and medium to advanced knowledge of MS Access and data tracking applications associated with this position.. Must be able to do ten key by touch and achieve related production and performance standards. Accurately perform advanced mathematical calculations and create formulas associated with these calculations. Consistently demonstrate advanced spreadsheet and database skills.



Maintain openness to learning and enhancing skill sets. Demonstrate a willingness to assist in special assignments and projects, including leadership and training of fellow employees. Utilize appropriate levels of judgment and be able to make decisions with little supervisory intervention. Exercise self-awareness of abilities as well as areas for growth. Communicate in an approachable manner and foster positive relationships with those in contact with this position. Ability to excel with time constraints and rapid turnaround situations.
