The Java Application Developer will be responsible for the development,
maintenance, and configuration of applications and websites within the
Market Force system.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



1. Utilize object oriented analysis & design and Agile development
practices within established architectural frameworks to develop new
systems and enhance existing ones.

2. Assist in prioritization and resolution of requirements,
enhancement requests, and defects.

3. Maintain and improve performance and reliability of developed
applications.

4. Design and develop emergency patches to address critical
production issues.

5. Interact with internal business customers, operation personnel,
and development groups in the development of MFI systems.

6. Work within MFI's iterative software development process and
utilize Rally to plan, execute, and track project tasks.

7. Research and correct potential code defects.

8. Perform root cause analysis on issues that lead to
implementation of processes to prevent repetitive issues.

9. Conduct analysis on issues that lead to implementation of
processes to prevent repetitive issues.

10. Research problem tickets to resolve data, setup, and code issues
and provide responsive correction of issues.

11. Write code updates due to enhancements or defects found within the
MFI systems.

12. Maintain knowledge base documentation.



Qualifications:



To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform
each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are
representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.





Education/Experience:



1. BS Degree in Computer Science or other related engineering field

2. 5-10 years of Development work, 3-5 years of Java Development

3. Understanding of Software Development Life Cycle



Computer Skills:

Proficient in the use and application of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel,
PowerPoint and Outlook). Knowledge of TSQL under SQL Server 2005/2008,
Java, JSP, Javascript, Spring and/or Struts framework, HTML, Liferay
Portal, Apache/Tomcat configuration, Subversion or other source control
application, OnTime or other issue tracking application, Endeca, Linux
and Windows operating systems.
