Java/J2EE/EJB Software Engineer

About the Role:
Design, develop, test, and maintain code and documentation as required in support of SquareTwo Financial applications. This will be primarily a SOA development environment working in BPEL, EJB and XSLT. The candidate will work with Architects and senior developers to maintain design patterns and performance standards.
What you'll be doing:
• Develop BPEL services conforming to best practices and performance standards.
• Develop XSLT
• Develop EJBs
• Develop code orchestration that includes web service invocations of other BPEL services, ETL mappings, PL/SQL procedures and other application tools.
• Jasper report development
• Oracle Toplink adapter development including custom SQL solutions.
• Estimate development tasks across many functional areas.
• Unit, integration, system, and user acceptance level testing of complex application code.
• Use an understanding of the application database structures and data to create accurate and performant application code solutions.
• Facilitate design sessions and independently develop entire code solutions.
• Facilitate requirements gathering sessions with business users, Product Owners and Architects.

What we're looking for from you:
• BS in computer science or engineering
• 3+ years experience with J2EE development preferably with Oracle SOA Suite
• Experience building business, financial or data-centric applications
• Experience with ADF, BPEL, EJB, XSLT, JMS and XML
• SQL programming skills are required
• Strong problem solving skills.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex code and provide performance recommendations.

General Purpose
Under general direction, responsible for supporting the infrastructure system as the Windows Administrator role within the SquareTwo Financial infrastructure team. Analyzes and resolves problems associated with hardware and software of primarily Microsoft Windows operating systems. Installation, configuration and resolution of server related problems on the company LAN/WAN environment. Responding/resolving tier 2 and tier 3 service requests and documenting resolutions. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
- Serve as Windows Administrator for Microsoft Windows 2003/2008 servers
- Administer Exchange 2007 servers and related email infrastructure
- Build Windows 2003/2008 servers
- Manage Windows servers and related components to achieve high availability
- Respond to Windows servers system alerts and work to restore availability promptly

- Responsible for patching and keeping Microsoft servers current with industry best practice
- Responsible for Citrix Administration on Citrix server farm
- Troubleshoot senior level application related issues via phone, in-person, and e-mail
- Perform user and permissions administration functions for enterprise Microsoft systems and applications
- Responsible for hands-on software and hardware troubleshooting experience

- Maintain inventory for identified Microsoft hardware and software systems
- Create and maintain documented procedures for Windows administrative tasks and environments
Other tasks as assigned
Scope of Responsibilities
• Administration, configuration management and operational maintenance of Microsoft Server systems
• Maintain trouble ticket queue
• Administer servers, printers and peripheral equipment.
• Responsible for maintaining server hardware inventory.
• Maintaining software licenses and compliance
• Complete routine system operational checklists
Experience
• 5+ years of providing Microsoft Server Support in a corporate environment
• Highly developed skills in customer service and public relations
• Multiple location support experience a plus
• Experience with Microsoft Operating Systems
• Experience with Microsoft Exchange Systems
• Built and rebuilt computers to meet employee needs using imaging tools
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Ability to communicate effectively with all employee levels, executives on down
• Front line troubleshooting experience required
Education or Formal Training
• MCSA certification minimum MCSE certification preferred
MS Exchange certification preferred
Physical Requirements
• Be able to lift 50 to 75 pounds above head for rack mounted server installation
• Must assume on call support on a rotating basis, weekends and after hours.
• Overtime is/may be required to maintain project timelines and schedules.
• Overnight travel occasionally required < 10%.
