About the Role:
Use your creative and analytical mind to design databases and construct data sets to generate financial information. Work as a member of the business operations group (FP&A) to build key metric reports using large data sets that allow your group to access business processes and logistics in an efficient manner. Design, develop, and maintain ad hoc queries with complicated financial reports and different types of drilldown reports. Analyze business processes to better design databases, data sets, and data dictionaries. Identify key data elements that must be subject to source data analysis capturing business rules as well as process rules relating to data.
What you'll be doing:
• Build data dictionaries.
• Document existing processes, identifying gaps and providing remediation plans for the processes.
• Be involved in design, development and maintenance of multiple ad hoc queries.
• Identify data elements.
• Conduct testing for graphic applications.
• Identify data dependencies and data integration points and collect business metadata.
• Participate in analyzing business processes, relational database modeling, dimensional data modeling, and database design.
• Work extensively with SQL, SAS, and OLTP databases including Oracle and SQL/Server. Use Cognos reporting tool.
What we're looking for from you:
• Bachelors Degree in Finance or equivalent
• 4+ years of experience as a Financial Analyst, data analyst or in a similar capacity
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work successfully in a team based environment
• Independent "thinker" with the ability to identify trends, anomalies and artifacts in data sets
