Newmont - SAP Lead

PURPOSE: Responsible for the overall design and delivery of SAP landscape and technical architecture for the Pangaea program. Work with other technical architects to coordinate infrastructure, application and security architectures and identify dependencies across projects.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

- Leads the design, build & support of the SAP Technical Architecture.
- Design server infrastructure (clustering, load balancing, virtualization, etc) and future architecture state.
- Responsible to define how SAP architecture constructs like transactional, operational and analytical data will be leveraged within the architecture to provide the business with timely and efficient access to data to enable business processes.
- Responsible for managing SAP installation and patch application across the system landscapes.
- Establish and manage the SAP project team environment (Dev, test and QA).
- Establish SAP production environment.
- Work collaboratively with the applications to build roadmap defining how the organization will migrate to the envisioned future state over time.
- Lead, maintain and influence a unified vision for SAP system architecture across all business functions.
- Responsible for assessing data integrity and quality across architecture and applications.
- Communicate implications of architectural decisions, issues and plans to business and technology leadership.
- Provide support/guidance to the development teams during the analysis, development and testing processes.
- Provide expert knowledge of systems architecture and consult with business and technology teams when detailed information architecture knowledge is needed, and identify/mitigate risks to delivering solution on time.
- Plan and deploy volume / stress testing.
- Work on Disaster Recovery planning and testing.
- Arrange data backups and restores / refreshes as required.
- Perform System monitoring.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

- Willingness to put in extra hours as the project schedule requires.
- Will be required to travel to domestic and international sites in the performance of duties.
- Flexible working hours to accommodate supporting multiple time zones.

Qualifications

TRAINING & EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering or other related field required.
10+ years of Information Technology experience, with at least 5+ years SAP technical architect experience including:
* SAP NetWeaver landscape creation and configuration.
* SAP Portals and SAP Web technology (Java and ABAP WebDynpro).
* SAP BW design and development.
* SAP Adobe Interactive Forms.
* SAP Sizing, capacity planning and SAP Performance Management.
* SAP Service Level Management- Data Center Operations.
* Oracle Database in ERP.
* Server Operating Systems (Sun Solaris and Windows NT).
* Enterprise Storage Subsystems - Design Configuration.
* SAP Networking - TCPIP protocols.

- Must have multi-functional SAP exposure with good understanding of integration across functional processes.
- Must have multi-implementation SAP experience with at least one Global in scale.
- Sufficient knowledge and experience to understand the "as-is" technical architecture state and able to propose solutions/architecture improvements to constitute a desired "future state".
- Highly competent in project and process management, planning, workflow, multi-tasking and problem solving, negotiation.
- Experience and demonstrated ability in managing projects involving systems integration (i.e., multiple interfaces) and managing multiple architecture projects simultaneously.
- Proven leadership and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to delivery of quality results on time and on budget.
- Excellent verbal/written communication and presentation skills.
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Possess a proven track record of creating systems architectures that were successfully implemented. Created various levels of systems architectures and models to facilitate the integration of diverse set of applications built upon disparate technologies.
- Experience in at least one reporting suite.
- Experience working with geographically dispersed clients and resources.
