system scope and objectives. Devise or modify procedures to solve
complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and
limitations, operating time, and form of desired results.



Network Engineer - Basic Job Purpose:

Responsible for providing daily ongoing administration of the Nelnet
network environment and apply a strong technical background as well as
in-depth network administration skills in a complex network environment.
This includes administering and managing a complex Active Directory
environment, tape backup management, installing and distributing
software, monitoring and ensuring security of the network environment.

This role requires excellent customer service skills and expertise in
resolving technical issues that are not able to be resolved at the first
level of support. This position also requires the individual to act as a
customer advocate and liaison at all times as well as mentor first level
Customer Service representatives.

Essential Functions:

- Act as a customer advocate at all times including during the
assignment and follow up of requests for network administration and
support. - Advanced level of knowledge managing and administering a
complex Active Directory network environment with an emphasis on
maintaining and ensuring security of the Network in accordance with
corporate guidelines. - Resolve escalated support calls and customer
issues not resolved at the first level of customer service support. -
Release and analyze quarantined e-mails based on customer needs and
requirements. - Provide complex security access and changes for all
servers including requests for creation or modification of groups and
directories or other file access issues that cannot be handled at the
first level of support. - Provide support and daily administration for
various network server operating systems including Windows NT, 2000,
2003 and 2008. - Responsible for all e-mail administration including,
exchange mailbox quotas, and e-mail distribution groups or lists as
required including the creation, deletion and modification of groups. -
Assignment of user, group and directory rights as needed based on client
requirements and requests. - Produce security reports, metrics and
analysis as necessary to meet corporate security and audit requirements
and to support internal management requests. - Ensure the server and
network environments are secure in accordance with corporate security
guidelines and directives. - Perform network administration and support
of remote users from various locations firm-wide. - Assist with Network
troubleshooting and diagnostics - Ability and willingness to work
on-call responsibilities, including nights and weekends - Participate in
internal and external audits and produce audit documentation and reports
as necessary. - Design, implement and maintain network software
installation packages and scripting. - Design, implement, modify and
optimize network login scripts as required to meet client requirements.
- Adhere to defined service level agreements - Ability to lead small
scale network projects. Ensure adherence to Corporate Technology Project
Standard Practices. - Ability to manage demanding workloads - Ability to
align technology based solutions with new and existing business
requirements. - Present issues, decision factors and recommendations to
management - Adhere to defined service levels - Assist with technical
reviews for new asset purchases - Adhere to asset management policies
and procedures - Ability to proactively manage client expectations. -
Provide proactive and professional communication to customers regarding
the status of their requests, ensure tracking software is updated with
current information on request status - Provide leadership and
assistance to other network technicians and customers - Ability and
willingness to work outside of normal business hours to accomplish
special implementations

Education: - 4 year degree in Information Sciences Engineering or
related field or commensurate experience

Experience:

- 3-5 years of advanced level experience managing and administering a
complex Microsoft Active Directory network environment. - 4+ years
experience with Microsoft network operating systems, MS Exchange and
advanced understanding of network concepts and environments. - 4+ years
of hands on experience with Network servers, including experience with
login scripts, Winbatch scripts and VB scripting languages. - 4+ years
of customer service experience in a complex technical environment.

Training:

Network SWAT Engineer -Basic Job Purpose:

Responsible for providing daily ongoing support and administration of
the Nelnet network environment and apply a strong technical background
as well as in-depth network/server engineering skills in a complex
environment. This role requires excellent customer service skills and
expertise in resolving technical issues that are not able to be resolved
at the first or second levels of support. Ownership and primary
responsibility of escalated cases is required, with attention to detail
from notification to resolution and post event analysis. This position
requires the individual to act as a customer advocate and liaison at all
times as well as mentor, train and develop first and second level IT
Associates.

Essential Functions:

- Act as a customer advocate at all times including during the
assignment and follow up of requests for network/systems support. -
Provide proactive and professional communication to customers regarding
the status of their requests, manage client expectations and ensure
tracking software is updated with current information on request status.
- Assist with all aspects of Network/Server troubleshooting and
diagnostics. - Broad range of LAN/WAN and desktop knowledge including
Unix, Exchange, Windows Server, Microsoft Server Applications, Active
Directory, VPN, Firewall Systems, MPLS, Routers, Switches, Ethernet,
TCP/IP, BGP routing, Structured Cabling. - Experience supporting
Client/Server applications in a distributed network environment. -

C# Web Developer

Position Summary: Under general direction, formulates and defines system
scope and objectives. Devises or modifies procedures to solve complex
problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations,

Principal Responsibilities: * Designs, codes, tests, debugs, documents,
and maintains those programs. * Performs technical analysis and
