DISH Network - Java Staff Analyst

Java Staff Analyst/Developer Position with strong database skills. This Analyst/Developer will work on Card Exchange, Box Retrieval, and other core Java batch applications.

Work hands-on and provide technical knowledge in the design, development, implementation, maintenance, and support of affected applications.
Analyze information system requirements, create designs, and provide technical documentation by utilizing Dish Network specified tools and methodologies.
Provide information system technology solutions by adhering to Dish Network prescribed life-cycle tools and methodologies.
May provide a variety of services ranging from day-to-day support, maintenance, design, development, and trouble-shooting to improve, advance, or simplify applications and processes.
Must be willing and able to take lead roles and work with all levels within Dishnetwork to drive projects from initiation to implementation.

Education Requirements:


Bachelors Degree in Information Technology related discipline or equivalent experience with minimum 10 years software development.


Qualifications:


Minimum 3 years experience on UNIX (HP or Solaris) platforms with strong Korn shell scripting skills.
Minimum 6 years core Java development and a willingness to develop and support batch-only applications.
Minimum 4 years experience in Oracle 8i, 9i, or 10g database including DDL, PLSQL, and SQL with performance tuning.
Other preferred skills include XML, Perl scripting, PGP, Secure File Transfer Protocols, and AutoSys job scheduler.
WebLogic development is a strong nice-to-have skill.
Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills are a must
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to work well under pressure and execute on aggressive deadlines.
Flexible in a changing work environment, and driven to succeed.
