Position Overview

Would you like to play an integral role in building a new digital music service? Are you a highly analytical thinker with experience in reporting systems and processes? If so, then this role, which is responsible for building and managing a reporting and reconciliation function, may be perfect for you. Define, develop, and manage internal and external reporting to, and from, many music and technology partners. Work with internal and external partners on payments and reconciliation on a monthly and quarterly basis. Have an understanding of various functions from accounting and finance to customer usage behavior and customer care analysis. Be able to lead a team, interface with all internal and external cross-functional groups and manage many complex projects simultaneously. Responsibilities
Reporting:
• Design and develop reports from multiple internal and external sources.
• Design - Work with internal and external cross-functional groups to identify the metrics, work with data management on report structures, systems and format, manage stakeholder inputs and timelines and define payment processes, make recommendations on reporting tools and systems from Excel to Oracle, etc.
• Develop - Create a reporting strategy and roadmap, partner with internal and external cross-functional groups to build, test and refine the reports, build payment processes to contractual compliance, work with the Product Development team on new features, services and rate plans that effect the music service
• Manage - Monitor and troubleshoot reporting systems and processes, interface with reporting partners regularly, lead reporting summits and operational reviews with internal and music industry partners, ensure payment processes are in contractual compliance, reconcile payment and settlement process with partners. Analyze customer behaviors, identifies patterns, understands what is and is not working with the music service. Makes recommendations to the product development and marketing teams.
• Reporting compliance with music labels, publishers and other technology partners. Ensures financial, accounting, and marketing reports meet legal obligations and that payments align with those reports.
• Develop reporting requirements for new billing system and new wireless prepaid service models. Have experience with IT and PMO organizations.
• Review and analyze the following types of reports: financial, engineering, customer care, supply chain, retail sales, service usage trends and others.
• Collaborate with Finance, Accounting, IT, Product Marketing and external partners on a regular basis to review metrics, identify opportunities, improve data accuracy and troubleshoot.

Reconciliation:
• Ensure timely payments to the music industry and technology partners
• Work through monthly settlement issues with music industry and oversee audits
• Collaborate with Finance and Accounting regularly to track payments, reconcile discrepancies with reports and payments

Required skills, knowledge, experience
• 5+ years experience in a reporting and reconciliation role with responsibility for creating, developing, and analyzing reports in connection with a revenue generating product; Reporting background in the digital music industry is highly preferable
• Prior experience managing external reporting to meet music industry requirements is preferred
• Excellent relationship building skills and ability to work closely with internal groups in order to obtain critical data related to music products, i.e. customer care, engineering, supply chain, sales
• Highly analytical with ability to create dashboards and reports (based on multiple data sources) that will generate insights in order to help run the business
• Strong supervisory skills and project and process management skills
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel modeling techniques and financial analysis tools and methods; Knowledge of financial & other database management and reporting/query software
• Proficient in MS Office
• BA or BS degree; MBA preferred
