TIAA-CREF is currently looking to hire a full time Sr. Systems
Administrator for BEA WebLogic Portal in their Broomfield, CO office.

The qualified candidate will:

*Handle the overall administration and technical support of
distributed server systems, ensuring acceptable and consistent
levels of performance through optimization; Oversee monitoring and
design of tools to manage the environment effectively; Apply all
patches and system upgrades, perform configuration management of all
associated software and hardware, and perform system integration
testing of server operating systems, related utilities and hardware;
Work with database systems administrators, programmers, analysts,
engineering, business continuity, and operations staff to ensure
that effective data security, integrity, monitoring and
recoverability procedures are in place at all times; serve as focal
point for applications development/infrastructure teams for
developing, configuring, deploying, troubleshooting, and performing
software administration for distributed applications; Produce
project plans and progress reports for management; Follow rigorous
system development life cycle (SDLC) and project management best
practices, comply with internal Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) and other
compliance related processes, and adhere to change control and
problem management procedures.

*Installs, tunes, and supports Solaris 10/WebLogic Portal 10 running
on Sun architecture

*Assist with server configuration, application development, and
software debugging for documentation purposes.

*Configure end-to-end monitoring or performance and availability of
systems and applications.

*Collects, analyzes, and manages performance and capacity data for
identifying trends in order to optimize performance.

*Analyzes system use and provides reports on average, peak, and
guideline values for each performance element to track resource use.

*Serves as subject matter expert (SME) on systems problem
resolution, activities and tools.

*Identifies and recommends process improvements to provide more
effective troubleshooting of complex hardware and software problems.

*Produce project plans and progress reports, as required by
management.

*Responds to direct questions from IT Management or the business on
the effects of emerging technologies on product development and
business directions.

*Typically experienced across two IT areas or single operational
area across multiple computing platforms.

*Responsibilities more heavily weighted toward analytics than
operations.

QUALIFICATIONS

*B.S./Master's Degree (MS) or Technical Institute Degree/Certificate
in Computer Science or the equivalent combination of education,
technical designations and work experience.

*Approximately 5 plus years of related experience in IT functions.

*Proficient knowledge in BEA WebLogic Portal, Solaris 10, Sun
architecture, MQ and Oracle

*Approximately 2 plus years experience with Sungard business
products including Powerimage, etc.

*Ability to install, configure, test, and document software
packages, including web page development.

*Experience managing WLP schema.

*Experience tuning WL 92/10 containers.

*Experience working in WLP Administration tool:
entitlements/desktops/etc.

*Experience w/ propagation.

*Experience w/ automation/ System V packaging.
