The Sr. Systems Administrator is an integral part of the Data Center Operations team responsible for administration of the Microsoft Windows and Linux servers that support NextAction’s development, test and production data processes. This position is responsible for designing, implementing and overseeing system security procedures, performing server installations and configurations, monitoring network infrastructure and upgrading system software and hardware. The Sr. Systems Administrator will create and maintain documentation, perform server performance monitoring and metrics to meet or exceed SLA requirements and keep all servers current on patching, firmware and supported levels of applications maintained by the Data Center operations team. Establish and follow best practices for deploying multi-tiered backup solutions.

Required Skills

* Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS or related field required
* 7+ years IT experience, with minimum 5 years experience as a Systems Administrator in a mixed Windows/Linux environment
* Experience with configuration and administration of Ethernet network environments, including VLANs, Port Channeling, Firewalls, NAC, IPS and VPNs
* Experience in the configuration and administration of enterprise disk storage platforms including SAN and NAS
* Must be very familiar with Active Directory Schema, Group and User Permissions. Implement Security and Management policies on Active Directory Objects
* Microsoft MCSE 2003 certification a plus
* Experience maintaining servers for standard Internet services such as DNS, NFS, DHCP, Samba, printing and FTP services
* Understanding of the administration of SQL database servers such as (e.g. MS SQL Server, Oracle, and MySQL)
* Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
* Strong communication skills required to interact with team members in Systems Administration, Network Administration, Database Administration and other internal groups
* Availability for occasional night and weekend work expected
