Trimble is seeking an enthusiastic and creative, beginning or mid level
Electrical Engineer. This position entails design, development, and
implementation of circuitry used for an in-vehicle device for tracking
and mobile asset management purposes. These devices depend on a broad
range of wireless communication protocols to accomplish their tasks.

Required Skills:

- Schematic capture utilizing software design tools

- Digital signal bus routing components and designs

- Designing and testing for EMI and EMC Compliance - Familiarity with
automotive environmental and power requirements

- Switching power supply components and designs

- Experience with standard development equipment such as oscilloscopes,
logic and protocol analyzers, IDE's

- A minimum of 3 - 5 years of direct, hands-on electrical design
experience

Desired Skills:

- An understanding of GPS data stream formats

- Experience working with cellular wireless data modules

- An understanding of IP routing and embedded Wireless LAN integration

You will be functioning as a member of a cross disciplinary team, and
previous exposure to elements of embedded hardware design will be a
strong plus. A BS degree in EE, CS, or a related field is required.
Preference will be given to those applicants who demonstrate the ability
to function well as a team member. In the initial employment phase the
candidate has to be prepared to spend a significant time traveling to
and staying at other company R&D locations.

Responsibilities:

Trimble is seeking an enthusiastic and creative, mid level Embedded
Firmware Engineer. This position entails design, development, and
implementation of in-vehicle device firmware for tracking and mobile
asset management purposes. These devices depend on a broad range of
wireless communication protocols to accomplish their tasks.

Required Skills:

- C and C++ for embedded systems (i.e.: other than WinCE)

- RTOS integration and device driver development

- Experience with development equipment such as debuggers, emulators,
oscilloscopes, logic and protocol analyzers, IDE's

- Serial communication protocols including USB - Automotive
communication bus specifications and protocols such as J1939

- A minimum of 3 - 5 years of direct, hands-on embedded experience

- An understanding of GPS data stream formats

- Experience working with cellular wireless data modules

- An understanding of IP routing, embedded Wireless LAN integration and
emerging wireless technologies
