Job description:
Great-West is currently hiring a Storage Administrator to join our technical team of professionals. Hired person will have the opportunity to participate in an exciting, fast-paced, environment and will play a significant role in: implementing and maintaining an enterprise open systems storage environment delivering storage solutions for projects throughout the organization, providing operational and configuration support for storage related issues and interact with cross-functional teams to provide a reliable, available, stable and on-demand enterprise open systems storage environment.
Required Skills:
- Good understanding of SAN architecture design and configuration using industry best practices and technical specifications.
- Experience provisioning storage arrays on a SAN fabric using SANtricity Storage Manager software
- Good knowledge of Backup/Restore technologies, policies, and procedures, specifically experience with Legato Back-up software
- Strong Perl Scripting skills
- Minimum two plus years of experience supporting an enterprise storage environment to include:
- hands on experience with configuring and implementing SAN/NAS infrastructures including the following like items: STK/SUN, IBM Shark, IBM ESS, Network Appliance arrays, Brocade and McData Switches, hands on experience with a variety of storage backup software tools, such as IBM Tivoli storage manager, Veritas NetBackup and EMC Legato Networker.
- Hands on experience with STK/SUN tape SILO robotic libraries and software.
- Experience developing and maintaining the backup/restore and disaster recovery business continuance strategy related to systems recovery.
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science, or equivalent years of additional experience within the associated job requirements.
Highly Preferred Skills:
- Experience with current storage resource management tools to include storage virtualization.
- Breadth of experience across a variety of other platform technologies including: Oracle, SAP, UNIX, Microsoft Windows, LINUX. Project management experience and customer service skills, and the ability to mentor others and share information.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
