President (Sales) - BCBS Market

Summary



The President of the Blues Market department reports to the EVP of Markets. This position is responsible for creating and executing on a multi-year roadmap to strategically build the Blues Market Practice and service offerings. In addition, this position is responsible for overseeing the management of existing sales and support personnel, developing new business opportunities, participating in the firm’s overall strategic planning process, and representing the firm in industry forums. The ideal candidate will have 15+ years of experience in operations, selling and managing an executive sales force; have an intimate understanding of Payer function within health plans, and a keen passion for improving organized systems of healthcare while building a financially successful, market-leading business segment.



Specific Responsibilities



1. Develop and execute on a multi-year strategy for the expansion of the Blues Market through technology-based products and services.



2. P&L and life-cycle management of all products and services for the Blues market. Responsible for delivering on annual revenue and contribution margin for products and services.



3. Establish and maintain respected advisor relationships with top executives and chief medical officers at health plans, provider organizations, brokers and policy organizations. Ensure customer satisfaction with all Blues products and services.



4. Increase and sustain TriZetto’s market leadership position by representing the firm at important industry forums such as the Disease ManagementAssociation of America, American Health Insurance Plans, American Medical Association, etc. This entails serving as a regular, and sought after, speaker and panelist.



5. Partner with the Corporate Development function on the development and execution of the M&A and strategic alliance roadmap to broaden the suiteof Blues productsandservices. Ensures successful integration of acquired products and services.



6. Actively participate in pursuing sales opportunities.



7. Partner with Enterprise Marketing function to heighten TriZetto’s presence and influence with key government entities – both at home and abroad. Serves as primary representative to testify on the advantages of Integrated Healthcare Management (IHM).



8. Develop and mentor staff and colleagues, and provide regular training on new developments within the Blues market.





Requirements



1. 15+ years of executive experience in selling products and services to the Blues market.



2. 10+ years of successful P&L and life-cycle management for payer products.



3. Outstanding demonstrated business acumen – a track record of making the right calls at the right time.



4. State-of-the-art knowledge of the trends, direction, issues, and opportunities in sales management



5. Big rolodex of connections within health plans, advisory and trade organizations, government bodies.



6. Name recognition within the Blues / Payer market.



7. Outstanding stage and platform presence. Polished and confident public speaker. Known as a great communicator both verbally and in writing.



8. Demonstrated track record as a team player. Comfortable with working in a matrixed and functional organization structure (vs. a standalone business unit). Ability to influence others to achieve success. Not a worshiper of the organization chart – will go anywhere in the organization, anytime, to ensure the right business result.



9. A passion for customers, and a proven ability to build and maintain rock solid customer relationships.

Education



An undergraduate degree is required and a Masters Degree is preferred.
