The primary duties for the Senior Software Developer are to provide leadership, implementation, and design. The successful candidate will:
Work with state of the art J2EE and Web technologies
Promote established standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Develop solutions to complex problems which require ingenuity and innovation.
Analyze system functional and performance requirements to support design architectures.
Lead efforts to scope and prioritize design requirements to meet product requirements.
Developer universal access for any user, in many languages, on any platform
Support creation and information design for websites and web-based applications.
Shepherd the design process and drive decisions
Develop design standards and contribute to the Intranet Development Guidelines
Work within software engineering plans/schedules, providing technical designs and guidance.
Adhere to technical architecture standards and practices to ensure reproducible development and high quality.
Engage in hands-on, in-depth analysis, review and design of the software, including technical reviews.
Provide employee coaching and mentoring.
Education:
M.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, and/or equivalent relevant experience
Professional Experience:
A track record of 3+ years of Enterprise Commercial Software Product
7+ years development experience with OO methodologies
5+ years with J2EE development experience including EJB, JMS, JTA, and JPA
5+ years working with J2EE application servers (WebLogic 9-10 or WebSphere 6-7), Oracle Fusion 11g a plus
Experience with Windows and Linux/Unix environments
Practical experience and demonstrable proficiency with the following: Web Services, JSP, JSF, JavaScript, Servlets, JSP, and J2EE specifications and other UI technologies
Other key skills and knowledge areas, include: Security Models, Directory Models, Application Servers, Agile Software Development Practices, Object and Relational Databases
Past experience in a commercial software company desired
Ability to communicate and collaborate with multi-disciplinary team members.
Experience with rapid prototyping a plus
3 plus years Java Portal design/development desired
