Summary
Prepares and files tax returns and reports in compliance with established deadlines. Determines tax implications of company actions and develops strategies for minimizing tax liability. Assists in tax audits as needed.
Essential Duties
* Supports state and local compliance for transaction taxes.
* Creates efficiencies and process improvements by researching and suggesting improvements to
systems or methods both within and outside the Tax Department.
* Implements legislative, regulatory and judicial developments to insure tax compliance is in accordance
with law.
* Insures resale certificate issuance/acceptance process is implemented properly.
* Reviews monthly transaction tax account postings and adjustments to general ledger. Reconciles tax
accounts monthly and prepares reports and schedules related to tax accounting.
* Supports tax audit group by compiling information needed to respond to tax agencies.
* Researches transaction tax matters as assigned.
* Works closely with other Level 3 departments to ensure proper application of all tax regulations.
* Develops processes and monitoring systems to complete workload.
Education and Experience
* 1-2 years corporate tax or public accounting experience, and experience in compliance ideal
* GREAT opportunity for recent graduates with a 3.5 GPA or better
* B.S. degree; CPA or M.T. candidates beneficial
* Field Of Study: Accounting, finance, business, or similar – Accounting ideal
* Experience in multi-state taxes a plus
* Strong Excel and Access skills a must
* Detail oriented and organized
* Team player
