We are currently looking for a Senior PHP Engineer. We are looking for a well-rounded engineer with a solid foundation in software engineering and the ability to think through complex problems. Responsibilities include building and maintaining reliable, robust automation solutions for the support of Go Daddy’s infrastructure and products. What does the job entail?
Apply advanced technical knowledge in multiple areas to improve and automate current systems
Help set the technical and architectural direction of future projects
Guide projects through the full development life cycle
Work with peers in other groups to define software standards and explore new technologies
Coding, unit testing and integration testing
Troubleshooting technical issues related to application environments
Do you have what it takes?
5+ years experience in software development
Prior experience delivering solutions that automate manual processes
Solid academic background - business, engineering or I/T related degree preferred (additional experience may substitute)
Strong Object Oriented PHP skills
Strong Understanding of SOAP Web Services and XML (NuSOAP, PHP SOAP)
Experience with Apache and PHP Extensions in the Linux environment
Experience with command line shell scripting in several Linux based languages: BASH, PERL, AWK, EXPECT, PHP
Comfortable at the command line with solid UNIX background
Mature, independent, yet receptive to team participation
Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Good understanding of OO design principles
Strong attention to detail
Strong troubleshooting skills
Strong knowledge of inter-application communication (sockets, queues, web services, middleware)
Strong desire to learn emerging technologies and to innovate new solutions
Distributed application development experience in a Linux environment
Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels within the organization
Additional Skills (Not Required)
Basic understanding of C/C++ and open source development tools (make, gcc, gdb, etc.)
Basic understanding of DNS
SQL knowledge and relational database design, preferably MySQL
Comprehensive knowledge of regular expressions
Proficiency with PEAR PHP extensions/libraries (MDB, MDB2)
