Our Client and Application Software Department is looking for a Sr.
Software Engineer to support a number of exciting software development
initiatives at CableLabs. This candidate should have a solid foundation
in software development, with a broad set of skills and experiences
ranging from web services, HTML, XML/XSD and Java to cable technologies.
The candidate will be responsible for prototyping new technologies for
the cable industry, as well as involved with working groups to support
the advancement of CableLabs specifications.
QUALIFICATIONS
· Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
· At least three years software development experience,
primarily in Java, but additional programming language experience in C++
and C also desirable.
· Experience on a software development project including
scheduling, SCM, issue handling, software testing and product support.
Experience working in an Agile environment is a plus.
· Excellent software system design and architecture skills.
· Experience developing web applications using some of the
following technologies; PHP, ColdFusion, JavaScript, Flash, Silverlight
and AJAX.
· Strong knowledge and experience in the use of HTML, CSS,
XML/XSD.
· Ability to understand complicated specifications and
develop prototype software according to the specifications.
· Ability to lead a working group to evolve complex interface
specifications.
· Ability to support CableLabs interoperability events,
conferences, and other outreach activities.
· Strong technical writing skills. Must demonstrate ability
to document software in a compact and lucid manner.
· Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new tools and
technologies.
· Experience in the W3C DOM, remote UI design and
implementation, and Webkit is desirable.
· Experience with CEA 2014 and DLNA standards is desirable.
· Experience with Cable technologies such as OCAP and ETV
desirable.
