This is an exciting opportunity to join one of our database teams. We're looking for a well-rounded DBA with significant OLTP experience, a solid proficiency in T-SQL, and the ability to think through complex problems on a daily basis.
What does the job entail?
Perform logical and physical database design to support several application development teams.
Integrate new products and applications into existing reusable software frameworks.
Preparing current database structures and configuration for high-performance/high-scalability through analysis and optimization.
Handle development escalations that require data manipulation on high volume production servers.
Participation in a rotating on-call schedule.
Recommend and evaluate new tools and methodologies.

3+ years experience developing business applications in a SQL Server 2000/2005/2008 environment
3+ years hands on experience developing and coding in high volume OLTP environment
3+ years hands on experience developing SQL Server stored procedures, functions and triggers
What additional skills are a 'plus'?
Knowledge and experience with SQL Server 2008 functions and features
Working knowledge of other development tiers and technologies (i.e. .NET, C++, etc.)
Experience with software architecture and design

What does the job entail?
Works under direction of Data Warehousing DBA and along with business requirements analysts to identify and understand source data systems.
Maps source system data to data warehouse models and structures.
Develops and tests extraction, transformation, and load processes.
Defines and captures metadata and rules associated with ETL processes.
Adapts ETL processes to accommodate changes in source systems and new business user requirements.
Performs process validations to ensure ETL code delivered is running, and conforms to specifications and design guidelines.
Unit tests ETL code to ensure it can be delivered and run in a system testing environment.
Participation and contribution in quality assurance walk through of ETL components.
Handles development escalations that require troubleshooting of data flows.
What do you need to do this job?
Bachelor’s Degree Computer Science or related field.
3+ years experience developing in Microsoft SQL Server 2005/2008 databases, specifically with regard to ETL design and implementation.
3 + years working in a Data Warehouse or Data Mart environment.
2+ years hands on experience developing SQL Server stored procedures, functions and triggers.
3 +years Experience working with 1 or more ETL tools (e.g, Informatica, DataStage, SSIS, etc..), preferably SQL Server DTS and SSIS packages.
Understand ETL basic concepts of data flow, data enrichment, data consolidation, change data capture and transformation.
Understand database concepts of referential integrity, indexes and keys and table metadata.
Ability to query source and target databases for unit testing.
Familiar with SQL Server Analysis Services and Cube design concepts.
Exposure to medium to large databases (500+ million records per db).

· 3+ years experience developing in T-SQL
· 1 + years experience in working with OLAP cubes, MDX and OLAP reporting
· Experience writing stored procedures using established coding conventions
· Skilled practice with optimization and troubleshooting techniques to address performance problems on SQL Server 2008/2005
· Excellent communication skills
· Attention to detail and the ability to QA one’s own work.
