What You Offer

Readily identifies core problems and applies problem-solving skills to resolve complex problems, often under tight time constraints. Technical guidance is received from higher level staff only on unusual or very complex projects. Perform advanced administrative tasks and provide formal or informal training in assigned areas.

Responsible (at varying degrees) for the design, installation, configuration, administration, security, operational integrity, and support of stand-alone and networked computer systems, including installation and maintenance of software. Perform routine administrative tasks under the direct supervision of staff within this job family. Employees typically perform routine tasks requiring an understanding of moderately complex concepts, logical thinking, and the use of system software tools. Contact with customers involves responding to trouble calls, recommending solutions and/or dispatching problems to the appropriate systems administrator or systems programmer. Employees may require direct technical management and mentoring for more difficult tasks.

Designs, configures, operates, documents, and maintains stand-alone and networked multi-user operating systems. Analyzes computer system and network performance and takes corrective action for operational problems. Modifies configurations to improve system performance, security and functionality. Determines feasibility, cost, equipment and time constraints, and may be responsible for resource allocations for assigned projects. Researches vendor options and may make recommendations regarding vendor service relationships. Makes purchasing decisions and/or recommendations regarding technology and tools. May lead project teams and provide functional and/or administrative supervision for assigned staff. Provide direct user support with backup from higher level staff. Client calls for production operations specific issues. Asset management. Rack/Unrack equipment. Participate in project teams. Performs other duties as assigned.

Experience: 2 to 4 years systems administration
