Results Management & Performance Benchmarking: Develop and become the primary point of contact for daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasts of Cricket's products, i.e., Voice, PAYGo and Broadband at the channel level. Support the development of reports and dashboards reflecting the financial and operational performance of Corporate Sales & Operations' initiatives. Partner with Finance, Marketing and Operations leadership to develop monthly reviews of financial performance and develop action plans to adjust to changes in the business. Present the performance summaries to Finance, Sales, Operations and Marketing leadership teams.
Channel Strategy and Analysis: Manage the development of analytical tools and processes for the optimization of channel performance and profitability. Be the primary systems lead to work with the Oracle and BI team to develop channel metric scorecards/dashboards, reports and P&Ls. Provide leadership to determine the impact of strategic initiatives on channel performance.


Forecasting & Business Planning:
Rewards and Recognition Reporting: Provide lead analytical support for ad hoc report requests from business analysts and managers regarding reward programs. Work to clarify and define report requirements, design, and develop database queries to extract report data and format data for delivery to end user according to presentation requirements. Ensures accuracy of sales reporting to field and senior management as it relates to incentives and projects.
Manage the Retail Traffic Counter (RTC) Database & Monthly Performance Reporting:
Manage the monthly database administration activities of the RTC server and other Channel Team systems applications. Responsible for existing and development of any new reporting.
Business Modeling: Provide analytical expertise performing all Sales & Operations modeling exercises. Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to design, build and articulate relevant financial/operational models.
Re-Engineer the current forecast process: Ensure development of reporting processes and databases that provide a daily forecast of gross adds to the current MTD Gross Adds by Channel Report.


Sales Channel Project Management: Lead all system and data extraction activities to ensure corporate financial/operational systems are continuously updated and accurate. Ensure the team has access to historical results that allow it to quickly benchmark performance and perform trend/variance analyses. Assist with development of solutions to streamline reporting processes and improve report delivery mechanisms.
Leadership: As the department is developed, provide guidance, mentoring and direction to other financial analysts in the area of financial/operational reporting and process management. Provide feedback and insight to the development of Channel Team processes, policies and operating procedures for providing best-in-class analytical and reporting support to the organization.


Education
Required: BA/BS Finance, Accounting, Business or related discipline or equivalent job experience
Preferred: MBA and candidates with a minor in Computer Information Systems a definite plus


Industry Experience
Required: Telecom or Wireless
Preferred: Retail or Consumer Electronics


Job Experience Required
Minimum of 8 years experience in Finance and Accounting.
5 years experience in complex financial analysis.
Position also requires financial disciplines preferably in a multi-location environment.
Strong knowledge of modeling and analysis utilizing spreadsheet software (Excel) and database tools such as Oracle, SQL, and MS Access.
Demonstrated ability to guide and direct finance staff.
Good interpersonal and presentation skills.
Highly developed analytic and problem solving skills.
Ability to work with senior management in a matrix environment


Preferred
Prior experience with statistical techniques a plus.
Sequel programming and experience using Business Intelligence online analytical (OLAP) tools such as Business Objects, MicroStrategy or Cognos.

Position Overview


The Architect III - Solutions Web Channel- will serve in a liaison role between the IT and the business unit to bring enhanced alignment between these groups. Responsible to maintain a detailed knowledge of the architectures, systems & applications that support the business unit .Understand short and long term goals of the business unit and share them with the Enterprise Architecture and Planning team. Develop and present IT Systems Roadmaps to business units (Care/Sales, Web and Product Development).Understand business unit short and long term goals and ensure IT Roadmaps reflect prioritization and needs of the business unit


Responsibilities will include supporting business process design workshops/JADs related to relevant applications; performing impact and system analysis based on business requirements; supporting the development of test architectures and technology validation strategies; developing and nurture consensus and working relationships with technical teams from other IT and Engineering departments to ensure coordination and integration in IT projects and programs; collaborating with other technical teams in the exchange and transfer of technical knowledge and in the development and evolution of architecture standards, guidelines, reference architecture, and the IT Technology Roadmap; and performing other duties and responsibilities as assigned.


Essential Functions
Accurately plans and manages the end to end delivery of Data Modeling related projects (enhancements, rollouts, upgrades).
Ensures production of timely and high quality deliverables pertaining to Data Modeling capabilities and applications.
Monitors project progress and status, conducts regular project reviews and provides regular project status reports.
Participates in the shaping of Data Management strategy and architecture as we sunset legacy DB systems and move to more strategic Data platforms.
Partner and work with IT Applications developers and IT Infrastructure/Operations DBAs to implement DB models.
Develop and work with internal business customers to foster and grow focus on importance of Data Management, especially, Master Data Management, Data Quality, and Data Stewardship.
Use industry best practices to develop database architectures and designs for large and medium sized complex web, database and data warehouse applications using standard software engineering tools.
Develop complex components.
Research and evaluate new tools and technology for use.
Be a mentor to development staff.
Manages expectations in relationship to timeline deliverables.
Familiarity with TM Forum and its framework (NGOSS) and Model (SID) highly desirable.
Experience in using and administrating corporate Enterprise Architect (MDG plug-in) or Rational toolset (Rational Apex, Rose, SoDA, ClearCase, etc.) highly desirable.


Key areas of focus include
Enterprise Data Modeling strategy, design, and implementation, with an emphasis on developing the Cricket Enterprise Data Model.
Database design and modeling of key corporate database platforms across the enterprise including OLTP, ODS, Staging, and DW/OLAP databases.
In depth experience with Object Oriented Analysis & Design, Object Oriented Programming, UML, Design Patterns, Database Design, Data warehouse Design, Web Services, and Service Oriented Architecture.


Departmental Functions
The Architect Data Modeling & Design leads and coordinates the technical effort in support of both Project Managers and the Program Manager and is responsible for deriving and translating business requirements; ensuring the data architecture integrates system components, including hardware, software, data, and procedures, to satisfy system requirements; applying architectural and engineering concepts to create database designs that are appropriately scalable, maintainable, securable, reliable, extensible, flexible, available, manageable, etc; ensuring that new databases are implemented to conform to enterprise data model, current strategies, and identify evolving business requirements.
Serve as the lead technical resource and reference for the new databases, and help define appropriate customer support responses, as well as dealing directly with customers on high-level issues. Providing oversight and guidance of new database initiatives ensuring adherence to architectural principles. Be responsible for the timely delivery of defined database capabilities, which includes managing the expectations of management, communicating decisions and issues, and presenting critical information.
Responsible for evaluation of external interfaces, broad database functions and issues, and implementation strategies, and is responsible for the integrity of the data architecture across the functional areas (architecture, system engineering, software development, and test engineering).
Work with other architects on planning and implementation of the technical Enterprise Architecture, including both short and long term strategies for retiring certain legacy systems, integrating existing systems and new systems implementation recommendations. Participate in architectural governance activities, e.g. developing policies, procedures and standards for consistent use of reusable services within projects. Understand architectural best practices, processes and standards and apply them across a breadth of technologies to orchestrate solutions.
Lead the evaluation of software vendors targeted for possible integration into the systems or environment, including strategic applications, tools and utilities
Maintain an ongoing awareness of emerging developments and trends in technology that could impact current projects and influence new projects.


Education:


B.S. in Computer Science or related discipline or equivalent experience.


Industry Experience:


8 + years experience in data architecting, designing and implementing cross platform solutions in large enterprises.
3+ years in database development and 3+ years experience architecting enterprise-level database applications, integrating proprietary and vendor-provided components.


Job Experience Required:


1- 3 years Demonstrated experience in database application design, service-oriented architecture (SOA) and implementation projects for a large IT organization. Systems integration methods and technologies
1 -3 years Experience with Object Oriented Analysis & Design, Object Oriented Programming, UML, Design Patterns, Database Design, Data warehouse Design, Web Services, and Service Oriented Architecture.
1 -3 years Experience in development standards and frameworks such as BPMN, DoDAF-MODAF, TOGAF, Zachman, SysML, DDS or UML4ODP.
1 -3 years Expertise in using and administrating corporate Enterprise Architect (MDG plug-in) or Rational toolset (Rational Apex, Rose, SoDA, ClearCase, etc.) highly desirable.
1-3 years Broad set of skills to create a solution that provides interoperability and efficiency, and a cohesive infrastructure to support the goals of the business
Experience deploying and supporting servers in a 7/24 production environment.
Broad architectural experience, across OS (Windows, UNIX), Database (Oracle, DB2, SQL Server), application server (J2EE, .NET) and other technologies (MQSeries, JMS, Struts, Junit, etc.)
Superlative written, verbal, and diagrammatic communication skills


Job Experience Preferred:


3 years experience in Telecom or related industry.
Experience with Java, TIBCO, BEA Weblogic, and/or IBM WebSphere is highly desirable.
