Invent cable's future.

Tomorrow's cable industry will look nothing like today's.

It can't.

To keep pace with consumer demand for fully personalized content when,
where and how they want it, cable must constantly exceed those demands.
In fact, it must invent desire for new products and services long before
the public even knows it can't live without them.

Meet CableLabs.

Our sole mission is to create, nurture and deploy the technologies, such
as on-line services, wireless, and 3D-TV, which help our industry
members consistently reinvent cable and broaden its reach. The very same
unbridled desire to create and innovate that has propelled your career
is alive and well here—and has been for over 20 years.

CableLabs is looking for a Senior Architect, IP Technologies...

A strong, adaptable, self-starter with proven expertise across wired and
wireless networks, who can help envision, initiate and drive IP

work both as an individual contributor, and a technical collaborator,

This individual will wear multiple hats based on project needs such as
technical leadership, specification or prototype development, and
project management. The areas the individual will address will be access
and core network technologies related to the delivery of data, video,
voice, and broadband applications.

QUALIFICATIONS?

• Masters or equivalent in computer science and data
networking architectures (BSCS/BSEE, or, MSCE/MSEE).

• A minimum of 5-7 years of experience with IP-based
protocols (e.g., SIP, RTP) technologies (e.g., VoIP), architectures
(e.g., IP video) and applications (e.g., unified media applications) in
wired and wireless areas.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the
specific ability to speak to various technical and management levels.

• Knowledge and participation around IP standard and
specification efforts (e.g., IETF, SCTE, DVB, 3GPP) is desired.

• Exposure or experience to software architectures and
development is desired.

• Excellent time and task management, and inter-personal
skills.

• Willingness to travel when required.

OPPORTUNITY?

This individual will be part of the Network Design & Signaling Protocols
Group, a team of highly qualified, dedicated individuals who take pride
in designing and introducing new broadband, video and IP technologies.
This individual will also work closely with our Program Leaders, our
Cable Operator representatives (senior staff, executives) and vendors
who dream of better things for the consumers, everyday!

Do you meet these requirements? Do you have a yearning for learning, the
resilience to adapt to an ever-changing technical landscape, and a
penchant for challenges? If so, come be a part of an organization that
is dedicated to identifying and delivering new and innovative video and
broadband technologies over cable networks.
