Broomfield - CDN Technician - Level 3

Level 3 Communications is currently looking for a CDN provisioning technician to join the team responsible for configuration and solution delivery on the Level 3 Content Delivery Network (CDN.) Level 3's CDN network provides an end-to-end content distribution capability for the rapidly changing world of content delivery.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to; implement CDN service technology delivery and provisioning for caching, streaming, and storage services, support activation. Co-ordinate activation activities requiring Vyvx broadcast and event based solutions. Be a key contributor of a highly technical provisioning, capable of delivering end-to-end content solutions in response to the business needs of a customer's web publishing environment. Maintain activation service level agreements and customer comitment timeframes for delivery.
Requirements include:
- Experience in web publishing environments and architectures, strong knowledge of HTTP and DNS and familiarity with web caching
- Ability to manage and prioritize individual transactional workload as part of a team supporting web solutions
- Experience building and maintaining relationships with customers, sales teams and operations support teams
- Excellent writing and verbal communication abilities required
- 3-5 years (2 years in CDN/ASP/ISP environment)
- May participate in technical and tool requirements reviews to provide feedback to refine system and interface definitions
- Must be willing to work on call via pager and/or cell phone, including weekends or holidays to support the operations staff
- Good analytical and problem solving skills
- Able to learn and use Level 3 specific provisioning systems
- Ability to work extra hours as needed
Minimum Level of Education: BS or Equivalent work experience
Fields of Study: Engineering or Computer Science
