Job Summary: The Quality Engineer (QE) helps develop, manage, and maintain quality policies, standards, and procedures used throughout the corporation. The QE is responsible for assisting Trimble business areas, worldwide, with meeting corporate quality objectives through the communication and training of personnel regarding accepted quality practices. In addition the QE helps ensure quality requirements are met by different business areas prior to the release of new products to remote or captive manufacturing facilities, utilizing Trimble's T5 product development process. The QE works with Supplier Quality Engineering, as required, to support supplier quality activities to ensure the quality of components that are assembled into products. The QE is responsible for assisting Trimble groups with product related issues and improving product quality. The QE is responsible for generating, maintaining, and reporting/publishing meaningful product metrics on a regular basis to assist business areas in appropriately addressing product related quality issues. The QE is also responsible for providing global ISO and other regulatory compliance guidance and maintaining corporate level certifications at multiple sites. This position reports to the Director of Quality.
Primary Duties: • Ensures T5 NPI Product Development process is maintained and deliverables are completed prior to release of new products • Develops test plans and verification/validation of product fixes or solutions to issues. • Helps develop, generates and communicates quality policies, standards, and procedures throughout the corporation. • Responsible for assisting all business areas in all quality related matters. • Responsible for assisting business areas in resolving technical product issues throughout the entire product life cycle. • Leads continuous improvement activities by leading lean six sigma, kaizen, and continuous improvement teams. • Responsible for ensuring corporate ISO certifications are maintained. • Responsible for ensuring corporate regulatory guidelines are being met. • Works with internal customers on corrective actions and process related issues. • Provides basic quality tool training as required throughout the corporation. • Monitors, develops, and reports product quality metrics across multiple business areas. • Works with customers and suppliers on internal and external corrective actions for process related field returns.

• Strong technical and quality background • Ability to develop standards and procedures. • Ability to generate test reports and analyses. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with all levels of associates and suppliers both domestic and foreign. • Ability to influence, lead others and promote changes throughout the corporation. • Ability to analyze production process and systems, and identify concerns. • Ability to learn technical information quickly and apply it to specific product problems. • Ability to provide quality problem solving guidance to others. • Working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Project Management scheduling software. • Good working knowledge of quality methods associated with lean six sigma methods and tools. • Ability to travel worldwide up to 20%-30% per year.

Job Description for MEP Trainer / PipeDesigner Consultant


POSITION SUMMARY

The primary responsibility is to instruct customers and employees in the implementation and use of MEP layout solution. Secondary responsibility is PipeDesigner 3D customer consulting. The position requires client site visits to provide customized training and/or software database development and implementation. Other duties include developing curricula and training materials to support the training effort. Also, this role assists the technical support department. This position requires industry experience in the field of mechanical construction and 75% travel. In addition, other duties as required to support the division as needed.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

„« Teach MEP layout.
„« Develop curricula to support product training.
„« Test software as training material, reporting defects that affect training.
„« Evaluate students in order to help determine the value of the training to the student's company.
„« Provide information about training in the absence of the Training Coordinator.
„« Help with call log support as necessary.
„« Learn new products and features as they become available.
„« Provide on-site customized training sessions on QuickPen software.
„« Help customers implement their software and/or provide custom data development.
„« Test software functionality to verify correct operation.
„« Provide online follow-up training sessions.
„« Complete expense reports and other paperwork in a timely manner.
„« Provide feedback to company's design team so that products can be tailored to clients' needs.

Report Level
This position reports to the QuickPen International Manager of Educational Services

Travel Requirements
This role requires an average of 75% travel


POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education
Associate's Degree (two year college or technical school)

Experience
Four to ten years related experience


SKILLS & ABILITIES

Physical Demands
Lift and carry products up to 75 lbs. Navigate a job site, with multiple stories, for the purposes of training, including (not limited to) climbing ladders, kneeling and crawling. Stand for long periods of time for training or on job sites visits.

Computer Skills
Must have advanced knowledge of the most recent versions of AutoCAD. Good working knowledge of Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office suite and general computer basics.

Other Requirements
Must have experience in the mechanical construction industry, specifically detailing experience. Knowledge of adult learning is helpful.
