ReadyTalk - Engineering Manager, Quality Assurance

DESCRIPTION

DUTIES
• Manage the day to day activities of approximately 8-10 engineers.
• Coach, Mentor, and develop the talents of engineering team
• Manage the agile development process, times and schedules
• Manages, works on, or serves as a resource on software development projects
• Collaborate in the planning, design and development for a release


QUALIFICATIONS
Requirements:
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent degree
• Experience doing web application development
• Flexibility to work outside of business hours as a release schedule requires

Skills:
• Proven ability to deliver high-quality projects implemented on schedule
• Understanding of software development process
• Professional and effective verbal and written communications skills
• Ability to effectively prioritize and complete multiple development tasks
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, often-changing environment
• Strong problem-solving and attention to detail

Technical Skills
• Experience in Java, C and C++
• Strong experience with Linux and open source applications
• SQL and relational database knowledge
• Familiarity with XML, XML RPC, SMTP, SOAP, HTTP

Software Quality Engineer

Our core business is our ReadyTalk audio and web conferencing service. Our services are utilized by emerging startups to Fortune 500 companies to conduct meetings, train, sell, and be productive without having to spend time and money traveling. We are based in downtown Denver.

DESCRIPTION
This position is responsible for performing testing in the areas of functionality, performance, regression and scalability for ReadyTalk’s web-based application, website and back-office systems such as billing and provisioning. This position works closely with the software developers as part of the Engineering team.

DUTIES
• Write and execute test plans and detailed test scripts
• Work closely with development team to resolve issues
• Document defects in defect tracking system and re-test corrected defects
• Work within the company’s software development life cycle processes
• Review user documentation for completeness and accuracy


QUALIFICATIONS
Requirements:
• Bachelors degree plus one year minimum of experience in a desktop application SQA role
• Flexibility to work outside of business hours as a release schedule requires
Skills:
• Demonstrated ability to design, develop and execute SQA plans for both new and existing web-based applications and features
• Understanding of software development process
• Superior documentation skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with others
• Strong attention to detail
