Collect America - DBA, Senior ETL Developer

Title: DBA

General Description:

This is a database administrator position within the IT Business Intelligence Reporting Team.

The position is responsible for managing all facets of the production database environments (Oracle and SQL Server). These responsibilities include instance, object and SQL code migration to production. Maintenance of production system processes and production support for the production databases. Serve as a backup for the Development DBA.

Specific duties:
* Implement and support new production database instances and objects within release management standards
* Maintain user roles and privileges in the production databases
* Troubleshoot production issues related to data or processes running against the database
* Creation and automation of monitoring and maintenance scripts
* Database file size and storage allocation management
* Database recovery and backup processes
* Performance tuning
* Review and tuning of SQL code

Education:
* Bachelor level in Computer Science or equivalent experience

Required Skills and Experience:

* Three or more years of hands-on experience as an Oracle database administrator.
* Some SQL Server DBA experience
* SQL query tuning experience
* Solid Unix experience; file system navigation, file manipulation, and file transfer protocols
* Thorough understanding of data warehouse data models and concepts
* Excellent SQL and data analysis skills
* Must have the ability to work independently or within a team
* Data architecture and relational database design
* Database backups, archives, disaster recovery processes

Beneficial Experience:

* Experience with various types of media Tier 1 and 2 disk, storage appliances, nearline tape, etc.
* Knowledge of banking and financial services
* Data partitioning and data archival processes
* Understanding of SLDC processes.

Title: Senior ETL Developer
Skills: Five or more years of hands-on experience with ETL Tools (such as Informatica or Oracle Warehouse Builder) in a fast-paced, technically-challenging data warehouse environment
Description: Collect America is a growing asset management company located in the Denver Tech Center. We have proven ourselves to be a leader in the financial market by attracting and retaining motivated, hardworking and creative team players. Due to our growth and leadership, we are currently seeking a Senior ETL Developer to strengthen our Business Intelligence Team. The work involves defining and implementing standards for ETL in a new data warehouse environment, and supporting the ETL development within a new Collection application that the company is developing. Additionally, this individual will participate in hands-on creation, tuning and testing of ETL, integration and data quality code. The role is critical to the success of the company.

Duties and responsibilities of this position will include:

* Design, development, testing, implementation, and Tier 3 support of ETL and integration solutions
* Assist in establishing the foundation data warehouse stage and integration layers in production, test and development environments
* Conversion/Migration of legacy data into new systems
* Lead development of new data quality and data profiling routines to process external data
* Develop key integrations with external vendor systems
* Collaborate with team members to prototype, test, and debug code which will provide data for use in business reports
* Work directly with ETL vendor representatives to resolve ETL application errors
* Provide input into the overall ETL environment, including configuration management, releases, metadata, user administration and standards
* Write and maintain technical documentation describing standard processes which other developers must follow
* Other tasks as assigned

Skills/Requirements/Education we are looking for:

* Five or more years of hands-on experience with ETL Tools (such as Informatica or Oracle Warehouse Builder) in a fast-paced, technically-challenging data warehouse environment
* Excellent working knowledge of Oracle and SQL Server environments
* Solid Unix experience; file system navigation, file manipulation, and file transfer protocols
* Thorough understanding of data warehouse data models and concepts
* Excellent SQL and data analysis skills
* Mentoring or leadership experience
* Must have the ability to work independently and within a team
* Data architecture and relational database design
* Understanding of standard development life cycle processes
* Bachelor level in Computer Science or equivalent experience
