Senior Software Quality Assurance Engineer
Webroot is seeking a Senior Software Quality Assurance Engineer. The
Senior Software Quality Assurance Engineer will help design and build
out an automated testing environment that interacts with Windows to help
augment the ability to provide quality updates to our award-winning Spy
Sweeper(tm) product line in a timely fashion. The Senior QA Engineer
will also perform complex software testing tasks requiring planning and
scheduling to assure developed products meet design specifications and
are within total quality management limits and standards. Communication
with product developers and cross-functional teams on product issues is
also an important requirement for this position.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Write test scripts and test cases to meet assigned requirements
* Composes Test Plans to ensuring parity with release schedules
and expected test output
* Write detailed defect catalogs into the defect tracking system
* Must be able to design, create, and unit test code to meet
assigned requirements
* Capable of estimating development schedules and determining
project scope
* Communicates with developers, product managers and technical
support specialists on product issues.
* Collaborates with team members located in multiple sites
* Works with Documentation to see that all enhancements, bug
fixes, and new products are documented
* Should be capable of identifying and proposing areas of
improvement throughout the application development process
* Provides technical assistance and technical training to QA and
other departments as required
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
* Bachelor's Degree in Technology, equivalent industry experience
acceptable
* Expert knowledge of Windows Operating Systems
* Knowledge of C++ programming required; C# highly desired
* 5+ years proven work experience in software quality assurance
engineering
* 3+ years work experience writing Test Scripts (i.e. Perl,
Python, TCL)
* 3+ years work experience with Automated Testing
* 2+ years proven work experience with relational databases (i.e.
DB2, Oracle, MS SQL)
* Work experience with communication protocols (i.e. HTTP,
Sockets, TCP/IP, SSL) preferred
* C/C++ experience a plus
* Security industry experience a plus
