HomeAdvisor.com is looking for a junior-level Java Developer to join our team of smart, dedicated developers who are responsible for our consumer-facing web applications. We’re looking for someone who has internet-focused Java development experience, is ready to contribute wherever necessary in the stack to deliver a solution, and who is eager to learn new technologies and methodologies. We have an Agile-based environment with quick turnaround – which means that even as a junior developer, you’ll still immediately impact customer experience. Your goal is to work hand-in-hand with experts from product development, marketing, and software test to determine the best solution (not just the easiest solution) to our business problems.

Experience and Skills:
If you want this job, you’ll have to demonstrate:
- Interest in gaining internet-focused Java JEE development experience
- The ability to understand abstract problems and provide innovative solutions
- The ability and desire to see the big picture beyond the happy path, and bend the lens to see what’s around the corner - we’re software professionals and we think in terms of what happens when…not what happens if…
- That you’re not afraid to make mistakes, and you’re willing to take ownership of projects: gain a good understanding of the problem, work to negotiate an acceptable technology solution, find the tools and answers, and proactively build and deliver code.
- That you’re a smart, results-oriented professional who is eager to learn.
- That you can play ping pong, foosball, pinball, and/or shuffleboard with the best of them.
- Bonus points if you have experience with servlet containers, Oracle RDBMS, Spring MVC, Web Services, JMS, MBeans, Restful, Distributed Caching, GIT, RIA Web Frameworks, Agile XP, Dynamic HTML, CSS, AJAX, JavaScript
