EDUCAUSE, a highly creative, national nonprofit association whose
mission is to advance higher education through the use of information
technology, invites applications for the position of Business
Intelligence (BI) Developer. This is a full-time, exempt position with salary
commensurate with experience.
Position Summary:
The BI Developer will be responsible for the development and maintenance of EDUCAUSE's
SAS Enterprise Business Intelligence solution.
The successful candidate will bring proficiency in data management and
reporting using SAS as the primary tool to manipulate data sources in a variety
of formats for both internal and external users; an ability to thrive in a
fast-paced, high-energy environment; and excellent organizational skills,
attention to detail, and results orientation. Candidates with extensive
experience in this area will be considered for a more senior role.
Responsibilities and Job Duties:
* Data management activities in SAS and SQL
* Development and maintenance of SAS code for ETL and data cleaning processes
* Development and maintenance of dashboards and reports for internal and external users of research data using the SAS Enterprise Business Intelligence products
* Development and maintenance of the SAS Server Environment
* Development and maintenance of custom web applications using HTML, JavaScript and SAS Stored Processes
* Integration of these activities into existing IT infrastructure and processes
Required Skills and Abilities:
* Proficient in data management techniques and tools in a production setting.
* Proficient in SAS programming using SAS Display Manager and SAS Enterprise Guide
* Experience with or desire to learn the SAS Enterprise Business Intelligence products, including SAS Management Console, SAS Dashboard Builder, SAS Information Delivery Portal and SAS Web Report Studio;
* Experience with or desire to learn SAS Stored Processes
* Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to work and communicate productively with a geographically distributed team.
Desired Skills and Abilities:
* Experience with other data visualization or reporting tools desirable
* Experience as a SAS administrator in a server environment desirable
* Programming experience (HTML, SQL, Javascript etc.) highly desirable
