EchoStar - Architect

Summary:
Troppus Software is seeking a Principal Architect who will be responsible for architecture, design, and development of product features of the Symbi™ Customer Service & Support Delivery Platform and enabling frameworks. 

Responsibilities:
Design, build solutions, and work closely with the team to ensure functional, performance, availability, and stability requirements of the solution are met. Provide follow-up support to company product marketing teams and customer personnel by disseminating technical information for specific products and features, and ensure that the solution is functioning in line with specifications. Set the pace for the development team with solution technology that supports the overall product direction. Collaborate with Product Owner and Development to align product design and architecture making the necessary changes as required. Coach and mentor the team while solving complex problems. Be able to write code when necessary to promote better design practices into the product and the overall team. Be able to write code when necessary to instill better design practices into the product and the overall team Provide prototyping and PoC code and documentation as a reference to development team. Help guide the Product Owner early in the analysis and planning phase. Drive a culture of quality by establishing a clear set of rules, e.g. TDD, Unit Testing, and code reviews before check-in. Be flexible in making design changes when required if requirements demand a different approach. Lead the development of a dynamic device management system. Follow and drive the Agile engineering processes and methodologies (XP/Scrum). Act as an advisor and propose changes based on analysis of requirements and new technology. Provide technical direction and design approval for Symbi™ solutions.

Basic Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree from four year college/university or equivalent experience. 10 years of proven leadership and architecture experience building and managing highly available, critical and transactional data environments, systems architectures and technologies.  10 years experience with the Microsoft technology stack. 8+ years experience in C#, .Net and Java 8+ years RDBMS design and development (SQL Server a plus). Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with IOS and  Android development Experience developing device management systems Proven software engineering and system design skills. In-depth understanding of a broad range of network and communication protocols (IP, UDP, TCP, ARP, UPnP/SSDP, ICMP, mDNS, SNMP, ZigBee, Z-Wave, M2M), as well as higher-level network protocols: SOAP, REST. Knowledge and experience with SaaS and SOA architectures. Knowledge and experience with modular architectures. Threading and concurrent programming. Experience working across multiple platforms and technologies. Distributed system design and architecture concepts. Distributed version control systems. Agile practices and methodologies.
