Position Description



Responsible for providing technical, functional, and coding support to customer*s product support teams, field engineers or technicians who are diagnosing, troubleshooting and debugging highly technical or sophisticated software or computer systems. Responds to situations where first-line product support has failed to isolate or fix problems in software.

Reports design, reliability and maintenance problems or bugs to software engineering/ design engineering. May be involved in customer installation and training. Provides support to customer/users where the product is highly or complex or technical in nature.

****This is an After Hours position. The shift will be from 6:00 pm until 6:00 am MST, the same three consecutive days of each week.****

Minimum Requirements



*2+ years experience providing technical support to product support teams, field engineers and technicians.
*Strong working knowledge of UNIX, Linux System architecture and commands
*Strong working knowledge of SQL
*RAC experience, including ASM
*Strong understanding of Oracle internals, administration skills with 9i, 10g
*SQL tuning a plus
*PLSQL a plus
*Strong Backup / Recovery knowledge with RMAN/user-managed backups
*Understanding of distributed application environments preferred
*Ability to quickly learn new, complex technologies
*Effective verbal and written communication skills
*Ability to prioritize and demonstrate time management skills
*Healthcare industry experience a plus
*Ability to work effectively with customers in high-pressure situations
*Flexible schedule to allow for pager rotation
*Good interpersonal skills
*Ability to work on a team and independently

Education



Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in diagnosing and troubleshooting software and/or customer service on computer systems.

Position Description



Responsible for supporting Oracle database stability among McKesson customers including assisting with planning and administering complex databases.. Help customers ensure accuracy, completeness, and stability of data in master files.

Work with customers to develop and implement recommended Best Practices and leverage tools to optimize up-time and availability of the database to mission-critical clinical applications. Support customer migrations and upgrades during application release cycles.

Minimum Requirements



*Exposure to UNIX, Linux System architecture and commands
*Good working knowledge of SQL
*Good understanding of Oracle internals, administration skills with 9i+
*SQL tuning a plus
*Shell scripting a plus
*Understanding of Oracle RAC/ASM architecture
*Understanding of Oracle RMAN and/or user-managed backups
*Understanding of distributed application environments preferred
*Ability to quickly learn new, complex technologies
*Effective verbal and written communication skills
*Ability to prioritize and demonstrate time management skills
*Healthcare industry experience a plus

The Technical Support Specialist provides technical support for McKesson products operating in a UNIX, Linux client/server environment with Oracle database systems. Solutions are highly complex and considered mission-critical in the healthcare industry, requiring rapid resolution.

Minimum Requirements



*2+ years experience providing technical support to product support teams, field engineers and technicians.
*Strong understanding of UNIX, Linux System architecture and commands
*Good working knowledge of SQL
*Experience with distributed applications running in a load leveled environment preferred
*Good working knowledge of TCP/IP
*Ability to quickly learn new, complex technologies
*Effective verbal and written communication skills
*Ability to prioritize and demonstrate time management skills
*Healthcare industry experience a plus
*Ability to work effectively with customers in high-pressure situations
*Flexible schedule to allow for pager rotation
*Good interpersonal skills
*Ability to work on a team as well as independently
*HL7 knowledge highly desirable
*Ability to work set schedule of Monday through Friday, 9am-6pm MST
