FirstBank - Lead Oracle Database Administrator

What you will be doing:

*Provides hands-on leadership to Oracle performance tuning methodology in relationship to Oracle Internals and .Net and Java based Applications in the production environment
*Leads complex level 2 and 3 troubleshooting efforts related to database, infrastructure, and application issues
*Develops and matures Oracle on-call process for proactive and reactive issues resolution
*Provides technical leadership over current and future, production DBA functions, architecture, and governance
*Maintains databases by developing and implementing automated processes in relationship to database patching, change-control, internal & external audit, security, disaster recovery, and backup/recovery
*Manages medium to large database administration and architecture projects
*Develops and maintains actionable database documentation and standard operating procedures guide
*Designs, develops, tests, and implements Oracle automation scripts using SQL, PL/SQL, bulk-load utilities, shell/Perl etc.
*Work across development and infrastructure teams, and along side other database administrators in designing and implementing database life cycle management guidelines, from database design to data archiving
*Researches, tests, and recommends tools related to database administration; instructs and assists junior DBAs on the use of database features, tools, methodologies, and guidelines
*Provides mentoring to junior DBAs and assist with standardizing database administration processes across multiple DBMS platforms
*Position requires ability to provide 7X24 on-call support on an alternating basis


What you need to have:

*Strong organizational and interpersonal skills; experience managing database technology projects and balancing responsibilities of leading projects and day to day technical tasks in a fast paced
environment
*Expert level knowledge of Oracle 10g/11g internals and architecture and intermediate level knowledge of SQL Server 2005/2008 or another RDBMS
*Strong understanding of database management tools such as Oracle Enterprise Manager, Oracle provided and third party performance management utilities/scripts, RMAN, Oracle packs, and Metalink
*Strong knowledge of supporting database environments in Suse Linux, EMC storage subsystem, and multiple database access methods from Java and .Net based frameworks
*Knowledge of scripting in Linux, and Windows OS
*Ability to plan, develop, and distribute management reports related to routine issues, baseline metrics, database service-levels, capacity and demand planning, and general health of the database environment
*8 - 10 years of Oracle production DBA experience
