Job Description – Technical Project Manager
Manage the implementation of NewsGator's products to their Enterprise
customers, including products for enterprise server and social
networking sites. The primary focus of this job is customer facing,
where candidates will be interfacing directly with client companies'
project managers and technical staff. This person will manage the
customer relationship from pre-sales up to and including
implementation. They will investigate customers issues, including
issues not previously addressed or documented. They will make sure
all the technologies included will integrate with and identify
potential barriers.
Responsibilities
• Provide the primary lines of communication to the customer and build
a working relationship with them.
• Provide the implementation and configuration of NewsGator Enterprise
Server and NewsGator Social Sites for new NewsGator customers.
• Regularly communicate with the customers regarding timeline, project
mile stones, problems, questions, and concerns with NewsGator products
as implemented at the customer location.
• Provide in-depth investigation, analysis, and timely resolution for
each implementation.
• Support and troubleshoot SharePoint and Windows Server environment
and application issues as it relates to the implementation and
operation.
• Work on-site and remotely to diagnose and resolve emergency and
chronic problems related to the implementation.
• Report and escalate customer problems and enhancements to
Development and Product Management as appropriate, including detailed
explanation of issue and recommended resolution.
• Create, maintain, and enhance product knowledge base, including
technical articles, FAQ's, sample applications, and/or demonstrations.
• Assist with product Pre-Sales activities and events as appropriate.
• Provide configuration and deployment support for other NewsGator
Enterprise client products, such as FeedDemon, NetNewsWire, NewsGator
Inbox, as necessary.
• Maintain exceptional customer service skills.
Qualifications
• BS in Business Information System, Computer Science, or equivalent
experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven ability to manage and solve complex customer support issues
in a dynamic environment.
• Proven ability to effectively interact and manage customer issues
either onsite or remotely, including difficult and potentially hostile
customer interactions.
• Working knowledge of Windows Server implementation and ongoing
system administration, including related server applications: IIS,
Active Directory, Exchange, DNS, DHCP, and networking protocols.
• Working knowledge of SharePoint implementation and ongoing system
administration.
• Working knowledge of SQL Server 2005 implementation and ongoing
system administration.
• Working knowledge of HTML, HTTP(s), XML.
• Knowledge of and exposure to RSS.
• Minimum 5 years experience supporting Microsoft server technologies
Work Conditions
• Normal Job location will be on-site at NewsGator facilities.
• Normal working hours are 8-5.
• Overtime will be required as job responsibilities require.
• Off hour work may be required as necessary.
• Travel is required for this position, national and international, up
to 25%.
