Job Description
* Responsible for ensuring that the CSG application hosting environment platforms meet all Service Level Agreements and operate in a fiscally responsible manner.
* Interface with multiple teams in a challenging collaborative work environment with Systems Administrators, Operational and Performance Engineers, Developers, DBAs, Network, Capacity Planning and Operational teams to develop sound hosting platforms for CSG's applications.
* Develops platform specifications, complex systems diagrams, business cases, functional process and procedures to efficiently provide a hosting platform for CSG applications.
* Develops plans and performs internal audits for architectural compliance of platform and security standards supporting industry audit standards.
* Create tools, frameworks, metrics, process / procedure and documentation to support Platform Operations needs.
* Provide technical escalation support for platform components and integration of application components for CSG technical teams.

Job Requirements
Exceptional knowledge of various system architectures focused on Microsoft Windows Technology. Extensive knowledge of system validation techniques and operating system utilities. Strong skills in network architectures and protocols including LAN and SAN. Excellent problem analysis skills. Solid project management skills.

Additional Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
* Extensive Platform Architecture and Design expertise at the Systems, Storage, SAN, iSCSI NAS, Database, and Network layers supporting distributed Applications focused on Microsoft Windows technologies in a heterogeneous environment.
* Understands issues and details of integrating diverse technology to deliver scaleable, robust, and high performance software solutions.
* Extensive knowledge of Windows Server based operating systems and related technologies including: Clustering, Active Directory Security, RDBMS - SQL Server, Oracle a Plus.
*Ability to articulate the various flavors of SQL Server and Windows Operating Systems and identify the business cases where they are appropriate.
* Extensive expertise in architecting large scale Active Directory infrastructures, including the integration of DNS, DHCP, and other Microsoft core technologies. Familiarity with utilizing Active Directory Service Interfaces (ADSI) a plus.
* Extensive Operational Experience in the following Windows technology areas
** Complete scope of Systems Administration Functions
** Deployment Methodologies * OS Images, Patches, Packages, SMS, Installation packaging (Altiris is a +)
** Event & Alert Management * MOM, Tivoli, etc.
** Operating System details * Deployment Strategy, Reliability, Scalability and Performance.
** Distributed environments, Networking, Security, RDBMS
** Middleware Technologies - .NET, WCF, DCOM, COM+, MSMQ, Component Services
** Virtualization (HW/SW) / Terminal Services / Citrix experience highly desired.
** Hardware technology * SMP, Horizontal Scalability, Blades,
** Load Balancing and Content switching and networking interactions and protocols.
** Web Based Applications * IIs, Apache, Web Services, HTTP/HTTPS, SSL, HTML
** Storage Architecture and Provisioning in a large scale SAN Environment.
* Ability to understand and distill source code in interpreted and compiled languages (Windows Scripting, package installers, Perl, etc. and c, C++, Java etc.) and how they interact with the platform and application components.
* Ability to seek out and leverage available resources to develop an understanding of complex technology, applications and systems without formal training.
* Ability to articulate business value for the solutions recommended to a wide variety of audiences using effective communication mediums.
* Skills and Desire to operate with an Enterprise strategy focus with the ability to drill down to very specific details.

Education/ Experience
Associates or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science field or equivalent work related experience. Advanced degree is preferred Typically 8 years experience in IT architectural systems design and implementation. Operating System Internals as specified by the department. Typically includes 5 years systems administration programming experience.

Additional Desired Education/ Experience
* Ideal Candidate would bring 8+ years of Windows Technology experience and/or extensive specific experience related to the position requirements.
* 5 years systems programming experience desired but not required.
* Extensive Data Center experience with large distributed environment 100-1000 systems or larger.
* Experience working in a heterogeneous Windows and UNIX environment supporting distributed applications.
* Experience with business process and cost modeling to support recommended solutions.
* Experience articulating the business value of proposed solutions to the business communities while delivering the technical merits to the technical community.
* MCSE certification with an emphasis on security highly desirable.
