Job Responsibilities
Primary role is implementing, supporting and administering Oracle databases in high availability environments.
Support many instances on various versions of Oracle in development, test and production environments
Monitor and resolve issues in Oracle environments
Perform backup, recovery and system refreshes
Install and configure multiple versions of Oracle for various applications
Monitor and adjust database parameters for performance and tuning
Install, and maintain Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM)
Implement High Availability solutions for productive environments
Document environmental attributes.
Educational Requirements
Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
Degree ideally would be within an IT discipline.
Prior supervisory experience ideal, but not required.
Job Requirements
Strong analytical skills and logical thought processes, with the ability to identify and resolve complex issues/problems.
Ability to analyze business reporting information and recommend improvements
Strong business systems knowledge.
Ability to work with a team, take general directions from several sources, focus attention on details and complete projects.
Ability to organize, schedule and prioritize departmental and individual work to meet various schedules and objectives.
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, including the ability to create well written financial footnotes that meet applicable disclosure requirements.
Ability to successfully perform the required and expected duties with minimal direct supervision.
Must be able to successfully perform multiple tasks with strict deadlines.
Ability to organize work effectively, reprioritize as new demands arise, and maintain strict confidentiality.
Ability to work with a team, take direction from supervisor(s), focus attention on details, follow work rules and adhere to established work schedules.
Must be able to perform all essential functions of the job.
Preferred Experience, Skills and Knowledge
5 to 10 years of Oracle database experience in both Windows and Linux/Unix environments.
Strong background in Oracle RAC and ASM storage
ODA or Exadata experience a plus
Data Guard experience required
Experience with Oracle 11g RAC, RMAN and OEM 11g or 12c
PL SQL and SQL experience required
On call duties are required
MS SQL Server experience referred
