Scottrade - QA Supervisor

Scottrade, Inc. has a QA Supervisor position available in Westminster, CO. The main purpose of this position is to review new and existing testing assignments, and to work with team members and the QA Manager to assign, estimate and allocate testing resources.    Escalate testing issues and project risks as required.  Participate in the interview process of new hires, and follow-up to ensure training plans are reviewed with new employees.  The QA Supervisor will be responsible for successfully mentoring employees, and conducting quarterly performance reviews.

Responsibilities:

    Interview potential new hires and review training plans with new employees.  Mentor direct reports to ensure employee growth and retention.
    Work with team members and QA Management to review new and existing testing assignments, and assign, estimate, and allocate testing resources as required.  Escalate testing issues and risks as required.
    Attend project related meetings to ensure testing milestones for team members are met.  Ensure daily and weekly QA Summary reports are produced to measure and provide transparency for QA related activities.
    Work with team members to ensure readiness of application production deployments.  Ensure test plans, test cases, post deployment verification test plans, etc. have been completed to ensure a quality production release.
    Provide continuous feedback on employee performance and complete and conduct quarterly performance reviews.
    Perform other duties as assigned.

 Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    Strong knowledge of testing methodologies and application debugging from a technical and/or business perspective.
    Strong knowledge of ODBC.
    Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    Ability to direct, mentor and motivate others in a fast-paced dynamic team-oriented environment.
    Ability to mentor and provide guidance to others, and ensure project testing milestones are met.
    Ability to create and improve testing processes to reduce overall cycle time and improve software quality.
    Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
    Strong knowledge of programming concepts.
    Strong knowledge of SQL and Oracle databases.
    Strong knowledge of FIX protocols.
    Strong knowledge of API's, .NET, and Web Services.
    Strong knowledge of AS400 mainframes.
    Strong knowledge of Windows and Mac operating systems.
    Strong knowledge of testing Web applications with multiple browsers.
    Strong knowledge of HP Quality Center, to include best practices in regards to requirements management, defect tracking and automation concepts.
    Expert knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

Education and Experience:

    Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    4-6 years of Software Quality Assurance experience.  Up to 2 years experience working with Scottrade applications may be applied to this requirement.
    Experience leading projects within a Software Quality Assurance team preferred.
    Experience with defect tracking and test management software.
    Experience creating and executing test plans and test cases.
    Automation experience preferred.
    Software Quality Assurance Certification a plus.
    Previous leadership experience in a software testing role preferred.
